More Serious Unanswered Questions Mounting Over Benghazi – UPDATED

It took the FBI roughly four weeks to get on the ground in Benghazi to investigate the attack and murders of four Americans, and then they left after only twelve hours. The latest in this cover-up is Obama's State Department withdrawing a 16 member special forces team from Benghazi in August, despite recent attacks in the area, refusing to take seriously the concerns of Amb. Stevens and his request for security, and a completely arrogant and asinine disregard by the Obama administration for the approaching anniversary of 9/11.

The blogs are tracking and logging the mounting questions over the 9/11 attack in Benghazi, and Nice Deb has a pretty good round-up of the blog coverage of this growing Obama administration scandal the MSM refuses to cover...

Gateway Pundit reports on the latest shoe to drop in the egregious intelligence breakdown that led to the death of the four Americans at our Consulate in Libya. Not only did the Obama administration deny the Ambassador the additional security he requested, they withdrew a 16 member special forces team from Benghazi one month before the deadly attacks on 9-11.

Lt. Col. Andy Wood was the leader of the 16 member special forces team whose job it was to protect US personnel in Libya. His team’s mission ended in August a month before the deadly Al-Qaeda attack on 9-11. A six member mobile security team was also withdrawn around the same time. This was despite the fact that there were over a dozen attacks in the country this year. Lt. Col. Wood was subpoenaed to appear at a House committee hearing this coming week. Wood told CBS News it was unbelievable to him that the State Department withdrew security when they did because of the 13 security incidents before 9-11.

Nothing about this Benghazi story adds up. Nothing.

Why did the State Dept allow insist Ambassador Stevens be in the most dangerous part of Benghazi without protection? Why did the Obama administration peddle the bogus story about a “spontaneous uprising” inspired by a YouTube video? That wasn’t “the best” intelligence they had at the time. There was never ANY intelligence that suggested that. That was always SPIN coming from the Obama White House. We now know that members of the intelligence community had briefed officials in the Obama administration about what had been happening [...]

Read in full @ Nice Deb...

I am so sick of this administration looking not to offend any Muslim sensibilities while the evidence is smacking them in the face. And if Leon Panetta is serious about bringing people to justice over this attack and these murders he had better start with the State Department and work his way to the White House. But he won't because he is right in there with them in this cover-up.

UPDATE:

Murdered ambassador sent cable warning of threats on day of Benghazi attack

U.S. Ambassador to Libya Chris Stevens wanted a Security Support Team, made up of 16 special operations soldiers, to stay with him in Libya after their deployment was scheduled to end in August, the commander of that security team told ABC News.

The embassy staff’s “first choice was for us to stay,” Lt. Col. Andrew Wood, 55, told ABC News in an interview. “That would have been the choice of the embassy people in Tripoli.” …

Asked for comment to the memo and Wood’s comments, a spokesman for the House Oversight Committee told ABC News: “Diplomats working in Libya viewed security provided by highly trained Americans as critical to their safety and mission. The Oversight Committee’s investigation continues to seek answers about why — even as threats against Americans increased — senior State Department officials erroneously decided such security was no longer needed.”

Investigators are exploring whether anyone at the State Department told the Embassy specifically not to request another extension.

The State Department responded this morning by claiming that Stevens had requested a specific level of security which what he already had. However, Eli Lake’s report from the Daily Beast today underscores just how fragile those security arrangements were...

The press has been complicit in this fiasco by not objectively reporting about it. Where were they when Obama went galavanting and campaigning while all these horrors were going on? There will be no investigation before the election.
Wait for the October surprise. Iran's economy will be announced to be in shambles because of Obama's wonderful embargo plans and Iran will be willing to negotiate to end their nuclear program for some economic aid. Obama will be reelected in triumph by a country with no memory of the disaster this presidency has been on all fronts. After the election Iran will go on building its nuclear program in secret and we will be on the hook for billions in aid to Iran anyway and, and and....

Comments to Medevedev; policy towards Libya/Syria/Egypt, and Iran...and none dare call it conspiracy. Hopefully, just as people seem to be wisening up about the jobs/economy reports (oops, another upward adjustment), they are hopefully wisening up about October surprise...err, never mind.

This was criminal negligence, and the media’s refusal to tackle it is the same thing. The problem is the media is so deeply corrupted and compromised that it figures it cannot afford to do anything other than keep up the charade as best it can and hope most people don’t notice or let it pass. Remember, they’ve got at least 47% or so of Americans to count on.
