Madame Chairwoman Ros-Lehtinen and Senator Rubio support David Rivera

Perhaps interestingly, as we go to press here at Babalu, the Miami Herald has not reported on this vital item in English--though El Nuevo Herald reported it in Spanish yesterday.

We note that The Herald endorses Rivera's opponent Joe Garcia. We also note that Garcia voters will be mostly Spanish-speaking Cuban "New Men and New-Women" along with our Lateeeeno brothers and sisters of similar political persuasion ( Neo-Nangara.)

In the midst of a heated political campaign and less than a week before the general elections, two important Republican figures, congresswoman Ileana Ros-Lehtinen and Senator Marco Rubio, confirmed their support and confidence in Congressman David Rivera who runs against Democrat Joe García for Congressional District 26.

In an email sent to El Nuevo Herald, Ros-Lehtinen describes Congressman Rivera as hard-working and intelligent. He said also that he has stood out for his initiatives and preparation during the meetings and hearings of the House Committee on Foreign Relations.

"Repeatedly and consistently he has supported initiatives to help the people of Cuba, Venezuela and Nicaragua to become truly free. and to deprive the Castro regime of dollars. He also share the view that small businesses need relief from burdensome taxes and regulations that stifle job creation".

Meanwhile, Alex Burgos, spokesman for the Office of Rubio, said the Senator's support for Rivera has been extended to all Republican candidates runnin gon Nov 6. "The Senator Rubio is supporting all Republican candidates for Congress in Florida and has recorded calls from several of them, including David Rivera...
