For those in REAL exile, up north… no laziness allowed, just too many leaves to rake
Yes, folks in semi-exile in Florida have no leaves to rake... They can afford to have a lazy sunday. Come up north and get a taste of the real thing. Leaf-raking is just the prelude to snow-shoveling.
And some of us are crazy enough to love it. Can't get enough of it. Bring it on, mother nature. Give us two dozen blizzards this winter, each packing at least two feet of the white stuff. That last blizzard, two weeks ago, was a disappointment. Only eight inches of heavy, wet stuff. And it melted right away. All that's left is the gray icy mounds at the edges of parking lots. Where is the real deal?
Most beautiful thing on earth...

Okay, so to explain this post ... the snow in the picture reminds me of Canada ... Canada's major national newspaper is the Globe and Mail ... and last week the G&M published this article about Alan Gross (which is presumably of interest to more than a few here):

[I do not recall seeing the above article mentioned on this site ... so sorry in advance if I missed it and am just repeating what someone else said.]
Oh. Giant slugs with little black feelers. Precious.
