Ros-Lehtinen Says Royce is the Right Choice for Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman
(WASHINGTON) – U.S. Representative Ileana Ros-Lehtinen (R-FL), Chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, made the following statement regarding the announcement of Rep. Ed Royce (R-CA) as the next Chairman of the House Committee on Foreign Affairs. Statement by Ros-Lehtinen:
“I want to congratulate my good friend and colleague, Ed Royce, on his selection as the next Chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee. I have always been impressed with Ed’s commitment and dedication to his country and have no doubt that he will serve our nation well.
“I have worked closely with Ed over the past years and I know he will be able to lead our Committee through the tough foreign policy challenges that face our country. His leadership and determination will help guide our country’s foreign policy in the right direction to better serve the interests of the American people.”

Committee chairmen have a six year limit, and in Ros-Lehtinen's case, her previous four years as ranking member of the committee, which count towards the limit, brought her up to her six years.
