Cuba Tourism “Expertise!”

expert2expertexpert3expert

The many faces (and hands) of Cuba "Expertise!"

Let's see:

Mexico (pop. 112,336,538) is the most visited nation in Latin America and the tenth most-visited nation on earth. Last year she hosted 22 million tourists.

Cuba (pop.11,253,665) hosted 2.7 million tourists last year and plans to host 3 million next year. (And oh, by the way: Back in the 1950's when Cuba was a "TOURIST PLAYGROUND!" she hosted an average of 180,000 tourists annually.)

GodfatherPartII_104Pyxurz

In brief: Cuba hosts more tourists per capita than Latin America's TOP tourist destination--and has done so for over a decade. Cuba's tourist facilities are currently maxed out.

Question for the "Experts": for that oft-prognosticated "opening" of the Cuban Stalinist system exactly how many tourists must Cuba host?...we keep waiting, but the "Expert" mantra has not abated or even changed: "more tourists will expose Cubans to the outside world and inexorably lead to an "opening."

Bottom line: Cuban tourism is at an all time high and Castroite political repression is at a two decade high.

Prediction: Flat Earthers will yield to facts before Cuba "Experts."

Another prediction: The layer, upon layer, upon layer of rotten egg crusting on their faces will in no way affect the "Experts'" exalted standing with the media--especially those with Havana bureaus.

Absolutely Un-'Freakin Real.

The Cuba “experts” know they’re full of it on tourism and in general, but that’s their job. Nobody actually believes the BS they keep shoveling, except the painfully stupid, but then NOBODY in Cuba believes in the “revolution” either, and it’s still standing. The real point is not to be convincing, but simply to keep up appearances and maintain the status quo as long as possible, out of inertia if nothing else, so that at least the “historical” crowd can keep their position till they die of old age. It’s kind of a Louis XV thing: “Après moi, le déluge.”
