French socialist utopia abandoned by another celebrity

bardot2-0104

bardot now

It looks as if French acteur Gerard Depardieu has started a trend by obtaining a Russian passport and threatening to leave Socialist France.

Former bombshell Brigitte Bardot  is about to jump ship too. Unlike Depardieu she's not fleeing high taxes, or so she says.  Non, monsieur. She's upset about the fact that the French government has euthanized two elephants who were infected with tuberculosis. France is too cruel to animals, she says.

Bardot retired from the acting profession years ago and is now an animal rights activist.

So, where can you find a nation that is kinder to animals than France, where owners can bring their pets into restaurants?   How about Russia?  Yeah.  She'll be asking Vladimir Putin for a Russian passport soon.  After all, Russia has such a long history of protecting animal rights, along with human rights.  The world loves those happy circus bears so much, and the brave little mutt Laika, who was sent into outer space with a one-way ticket.

Poor President Hollande.  C'est dommage.  All zee beauteeeful people are leeeaving his Socialiste wonderrrland.

Read about it HERE.

No, she hasn’t aged too well, and yes, she’s pitiful even apart from that. Yes, the glasses are ghastly, the hair looks like a dead dog, and she either needs more sun or iron supplements. However, she hasn’t become a plastic surgery freak show like some Americans I could name, which is to her credit. She’s undoubtedly, uh, eccentric, but I’d take her over, say, Cher or Madonna any day.

I saw another recent photo of her in which she looks like the Queen of England does now.
