This reminds me of something my Dad witnessed in Cuba in the late sixties:
Back then he worked at a food distribution warehouse in Havana (I visited the place a few times). They had a cafeteria for the workers that rarely served any meat during lunch time.
On a Good Friday(out of all the days in the year) they had the audacity to serve them steak.
