Senator Ted Cruz accused of “Mc Carthyism!!!” by MSM/Democratic Axis (but he forgot to bow and thank them?)

joe2joe

It looks like Republican Sen. Ted Cruz is taking a page out of former Sen. Joe McCarthy’s playbook.

The Texas lawmaker and Tea Party favorite grilled Defense Secretary nominee Chuck Hagel this week, accusing him of being cozy with both Iran and North Korea.

Hardball host Chris Matthews said the rhetoric reeked of innuendo and guilt-by-association–reminiscent of the tactics used by former Sen. Joseph McCarthy, who notoriously accused politicians and other public figures of being Communist sympathizers.

More from the NY Times.

Ted Cruz is indeed guilty of "McCarthyism" (i. e. exposing facts.) Folks, we're well, well past the point where that term should be recognized as a compliment.

Most liberals haven't noticed but many Soviet documents have been declassified by now. These have all vindicated Senator Joseph McCarthy a billion times over. Take the treasure trove of such documents known as "The Venona Papers." I give you the take from the eminently respectable Claremont Institute:

The year 1995 was an epochal one for the study of American Communism. For in that year, thanks to the insistence of the late Democratic Senator Daniel Patrick Moynihan of New York, who had long specialized in intelligence matters, some 2,900 documents collectively known as "the Venona papers" were de-classified and published. These were radio messages from the top KGB agents in Washington and New York to their superiors in Moscow from approximately 1943 to 1948. They had been recorded at the time by the U.S. Army Signal Corps, but they were, of course, in code, and their decoding was an immensely arduous job carried out by a number of heroic government cryptanalysts over the period from 1945 to 1980.

A second new source of information on the American Communist Party was the archives in Moscow of the defunct Soviet Union, which began to be partially accessible to American investigators in the early 1990s, during the Yeltsin years.

The Venona papers, together with these archives, made it absolutely clear that the American Communist Party was from its beginning the willing agent of Soviet intelligence...It is now plain that by 1945 every important branch of the American government, from the White House itself to the State Department, the Defense Department, the Justice Department, the Treasury Department, the Office of Strategic Services (predecessor to the CIA), and the Office of War Information, to name only a few, was infested with Communists busily doing the work of the Soviet Union.

Moreover, it is obvious that a penetration so complete would have been impossible if the Communists had not been able to depend on the blindness or indifference of many of the far larger number of ordinary liberals who dominated the Roosevelt Administration. As early as the late 1930s, even known Communists in government were often regarded by their colleagues as merely "liberals in a hurry." And during the war, of course, they could be excused as simply enthusiasts for America's doughty ally, "good old (Uncle) Joe."

Much more here.

Oh...and by the way, guess of what "former" Castro Intelligence officer Arturo ("Artie-Levy to you!") Lopez-Callejas accuses Babalu Blog:

"Babalu blog is not focused on Cuba but on spreading baseless accusations and insults... Senator John Kerry and any Cuban-American or American who disagrees with Babalu Blog writers' McCarthyism."

marifeliPerezGrandisima

Oh..and by the way...remember of what "former" Castro agent Marifeli Perez-Stable accused her accusers back in 2008?...:

''I'm sick and tired of these McCarthyite tactics,''

BTW: No Intransigent worthy of the label should consider his library complete without the magisterial: Blacklisted By History; The Untold Story of Sen. Joe McCarthy

joe3

From the intro:

Drawing on primary sources—including never-before-published government records and FBI files, as well as recent research gleaned from Soviet archives and intercepted transmissions between Moscow spymasters and their agents in the United States—Evans presents irrefutable evidence of a relentless Communist drive to penetrate our government, influence its policies, and steal its secrets. Most shocking of all, he shows that U.S. officials supposedly guarding against this danger not only let it happen but actively covered up the penetration. All of this was precisely as Joe McCarthy contended.

America has become Cuba 2.0. The left, after Obama's re-election, has now set their sites on any and all who are considered the "opposition". They went after Limbaugh, the Tea Party, gun owners, etc. This is a typical socialist tactic. Short of another revolutionary/civil war there is no hope for America. Sounds extreme? We have become either arrogant or ignorant to think that what happened in Cuba cannot happen here.

For more on María Felicia "Marifeli" Pérez-Stable Díaz and her espionage connections, see
    http://www.latinamericanstudies.org/espionage/marifeli.htm
It appears that she has given up on threatening to sue Babalu and other bloggers who exposed her links to Castro espionage. She's been pretty quiet since no longer being a Miami Herald columnist.
