Next thing you know, rapists will demand congratulations too, for being such good lovers….

Latest dispatch from the Kafka & Orwell Pub in La-La-Land, via ABC News (USA):

Notice, please, that the non-event in question is actually referred to as an "election" and that the members of the "voting" assembly are referred to as "lawmakers."

If this absurd piece of "reporting" were not so revealing of what is wrong with the main stream media, it might actually seem like a poor attempt at satire.

Chavez Congratulates Cuba's Castro on Re-Election

Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez has sent a message to Raul Castro, congratulating him for his re-election as Cuba's president.

Cuban lawmakers re-elected Castro on Sunday. Castro said the new five-year term will be his last as Cuba's president.

In a statement released by Venezuela's foreign ministry on Monday, Chavez called Castro "a brave soldier" and expressed optimism his new term as Cuba's leader would be successful.

Venezuela and Cuba have forged strong ties under Chavez.

Chavez returned to Venezuela on Feb. 18, after more than two months of medical treatment in Cuba following cancer surgery.

Like I've always said, there is no need for Cuba to sell Granma--- the official government propaganda piece--- in the USA, the American mainstream media does a perfect job of spreading their propaganda.

Part of this is due to entrenched inaccuracy, carelessness and laziness, and part of it is due to the MSM’s inherent leftist bias, which acts as a kind of anesthetic. I expect that, given the chronicity of the problem, it may be second-nature and essentially automatic by now. In many cases, these people may not be consciously aware that they’re effectively full of shit and look it, though no doubt there remains deliberate, malicious distortion, misinformation and omission (see the New York Times, for one).
