“You’re Going to Regret Doing This”

Apparently a top dog at Obama’s White House is showing snarling teeth at Bob Woodward…

Of late, the famous “Watergate”-breaking journalist has been fairly and increasingly critical of Barack Obama and the administration … and it is not being received well within the White House. First the book, and now the on air interviews.

WOLF BLITZER, CNN: You’re used to this kind of stuff, but share with our viewers what’s going on between you and the White House.

BOB WOODWARD: Well, they’re not happy at all and some people kind of, you know, said, look, ‘we don’t see eye to eye on this.’ They never really said, though, afterwards, they’ve said that this is factually wrong, and they — and it was said to me in an e-mail by a top —

BLITZER: What was said?

WOODWARD: It was said very clearly, you will regret doing this.

BLITZER: Who sent that e-mail to you?

WOODWARD: Well, I’m not going to say.

BLITZER: Was it a senior person at the White House?

WOODWARD: A very senior person. And just as a matter — I mean, it makes me very uncomfortable to have the White House telling reporters, ‘you’re going to regret doing something that you believe in, and even though we don’t look at it that way, you do look at it that way.’ I think if Barack Obama knew that was part of the communication’s strategy, let’s hope it’s not a strategy, that it’s a tactic that somebody’s employed, and said, ‘Look, we don’t go around trying to say to reporters, if you, in an honest way, present something we don’t like, that, you know, you’re going to regret this.’ It’s Mickey Mouse. Remember, Bob Woodward has been a hero of the left for decades since busting the Nixon administration and Watergate. But Nixon was a republican. Obama is a democrat with a juggernaut socialist agenda unfolding, much with the MSM cover and blessings. How dare Bob Woodward speak out

Bob Woodward said this evening on CNN that a “very senior person” at the White House warned him in an email that he would “regret doing this,” the same day he has continued to slam President Barack Obama over the looming forced cuts known as the sequester.

CNN host Wolf Blitzer said that the network invited a White House official to debate Woodward on-air, but the White House declined.

“I think they’re confused,” Woodward said of the White House’s pushback on his reporting.

  1. The joke is on Woodward. He keeps saying that if Obama knew about this… or Obama is confused. Wait’ll he finds out that Obama is behind the threats against him….

  2. Ditto Honey,

The problem is that characters like Mr. Woodward live in denial as they cannot admit who the real Obama is no matter how convincing the evidence is.

  3. Couldn’t happen to a nicer guy. Alas, Woodward gets a tiny taste of his own medicine; somewhere smiling, Richard Milhaus is sipping his karma tea.

The fact is that Woodward has been a smear agent for most of his career; I doubt he’s having any epiphany or encounter with his conscience, because he has none. My guess is he wants something and can’t get it, so he’s taking to the airwaves to exert pressure, only to run into high-end thugs like him. What a script!

Way back when, I used to run home from school and flop down to watch the “This-committee-shall-come-to-order” Watergate hearings on a little black & white tv set we had, with my limited command of the language; but they were a fascinating intro to congressional testimony and high drama. Woodward made his name and millions peddling all that misery since then. Now he’s having to tie the shoe on his foot. Pass the popcorn, I wanna see how long it takes before they kick him back into the fold.
