Government Waist: How Bad is The Government Girth?
This photo was tweeted to Twitter via Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConell's press office. Just know that the Founding Fathers would not have polluted a harbor with that stack of paper and ink ... They would have had a bonfire.
Since ObamaCare passed, just about three years ago this month, we have been complaining about its 3000 pages. THIS is how it has grown since March 2010...
“Part of the reason costs are set to increase so dramatically is because Obamacare levies so many new taxes and fees. But that’s only half the story. It’s also because the law imposes so many onerous regulations.
“Just take a look at this giant stack I have here in front of me: one day’s worth of Obamacare regulations. 828 pages in one day. Overall, there are nearly 20,000 pages – with many, many more to come. This is the owner’s manual for the health care law that’s supposed to make things better.
“Are you kidding? This law is a disaster waiting to happen.
“Imagine the burden we’re placing on the single mom who wants to open her own store. Or the young entrepreneur who wants to sell some new idea. Or the business owners we all know from back home – the folks who employ so many of our constituents.
“Instead of encouraging them to create jobs and grow the economy, we’re hitting them with a brick of regulations.” [Emphasis added]
That mountain of paper that is ObamaCare, and will continue to grow because in its passage the "law grants sweeping new powers to Secretary of Health and Human Services Kathleen Sebelius", or any other non-elected HHS secretary appointed to the position. She can, and has been, adding regulations, mandates and taxes to it since it passed.
The increase of robbing taxpayers of their money through implemented higher taxes does NOT lead to paying down the debt, and only leads to more spending. However, the unserious federal government, and the democrats in particular, cannot see their own morbid obesity in the mirror of truth, and insist we keep feeding them more and more and more...
But Rep. Paul Ryan has a diet plan for the federal government: "First Look at the 2014 Ryan Budget"
From the Republican Security Council:
A BALANCED BUDGET AND NO NEW TAXES - THE CHOICE IS CLEAR
The House GOP Ryan Plan was released today and it wipes out the deficit and leads to a balanced budget in 10 years. This graph appears in today's Washington Post which says "The economic growth numbers Chairman Ryan of the Budget Committee assumes are pretty plausible. . .
"Here’s how the deficit looks as a percentage of GDP under Ryan’s plan using both the CBO economic numbers and Ryan’s economic numbers.
"The differences in how the deficit looks if you use Ryan’s assumptions, compared to the CBO’s, are minimal. . . Ryan's playing it straight here."
The Ryan Plan contains no tax increases while the new Democratic Senate plan advocates over $1 trillion in tax hikes.
This also involves defunding ObamaCare, says Sen. Ted Cruz...
More proof the Obama administration and his democrats are NOT serious about cutting government spending or taxing future generations of their hard-earned money, but clearly driven by ideology and completely transforming this nation into something even worse than communism, if that's possible. Somebody PLEASE help Bill O'Reilly a damn clue...

Roger Kimball gives a sampling of the site by taking a look at the incomes of "public servants" in Connecticut and Illinois."
The U.S. Federal Government is eating itself to death...
