All this hate! All this hard-lining!…All this intolerance!..When will Cubans finally learn to respect each other, regardless of political beliefs?! Must we always be at each other’s throats?!
Yesterday in front of the Freedom Tower a partisan of Yoani Sanchez viciously insulted a gentleman who volunteered to put his life on the line for Cuba’s freedom in 1962–then again to defend his adopted country in holding the line against Communists in Viet-Nam.
This gentleman, U.S. army vet. Manuel Malgor, was legally and peacefully demonstrating support for the policies of his adopted country, for which he took up arms and risked his life. The simple act of showing support for the legitimacy of the U.S. base at Guantanamo, for the U.S. sanctions against the regime that craved to nuke his adopted country, and for justice against the five KGB-trained spies and terrorists convicted by juries of his adopted countrymen–for this perfectly legal and peaceful act Manuel Malgor was wantonly and maliciously insulted by a partisan of Yoani Sanchez.
Since we abhor the intolerant and simple-minded habit of assigning guilt-by-association, we certainly do not hold Ms Sanchez responsible for the actions of a few of her hot-headed hard-lining followers. Instead we trust she will urge upon them a spirit of dialogue and reconciliation.
Videos of the intolerant viciousness here, from the demonstrably open-minded Zoe Valdes.
(You will search the “open-minded” media in utter vain for mention of this malicious assault…But can you even begin to imagine the media UPROAR(!!!) if the Yoani Sanchez partisan had been the assaulTEE rather than the assaulTER????!!!!)
