Cuba’s dictatorship extolls virtues of gay concentration camps
Via Penúltimos Días, Manuel Zayas digs up some old Cuban regime newspapers extolling the virtues of the Castro dictatorship's Military Units to Aid Production (UMAP) camps, which in reality were concentration camps for gay Cubans. Any Cuban suspected of being gay or deemed to be too effeminate would be rounded up by Cuban State Security and sent to these camps to do hard labor in order to "straighten" them out. Taking a page straight out of the Hitler handbook, these concentration camps had signs over the entry gates that read: "Work will make men out of you."
