  • La Conchita: Too bad that these Cuban boys didn’t get the same support as that provided to ‘The Boys of Pointe du Hoc’....

  • asombra: Except the reality is considerably uglier than that second photo. Besides, tourists don’t go to Cuba looking for reality,...

  • asombra: Can there be shame if those responsible don’t feel it? The Camelot crowd never did.

  • asombra: Funny how those executed were all “people of color,” while none of the white young men also involved in the escape...

  • asombra: I doubt Feinberg is an idiot, though I expect he can be useful.

Statistics

Statistics

Statistics tell us that Cuba is the best country in Latin America to have children. Or that the Cuban diet is the most balanced diet of any other country.

However, what these statistics will never explain is the tendency of Cubans to escape to any other country with worse statistics.

(And don't forget the Haitians who no matter how many Cuban statistics you show them prefer to go to the Dominican Republic: A country that is -- as far as statistics are concerned -- infinitely worse.)
