UPDATED: Hoax!
New rumors tell of impending death of Cuban dictator Fidel Castro

UPDATE: Turns out this rumor is yet another hoax. The El Universal story cited goes back to October of 2012. Oh well, we'll have to wait for the next rumor.

_____________________

It has been a while, but sooner or later, you can always count on a new rumor saying that either Fidel Castro is dead or is about to die. Although all have been wrong until now, as the decrepit and murderous dictator gets older and closer to meeting his maker, one of these rumors is bound to be true.

Via Diario Critico (my translation):

Assurances that Fidel Castro is connected to a ventilator and on the verge of death

> The report comes from Jorge Cajias in an article published in the Venezuelan daily 'El Universal'

The report from Jorge Cajias in an article published in the Venezuelan daily El Universal: According to his sources, Fidel Castro is connected to a ventilator with failing health in a hospital located in a bunker in Havana, which was originally built during the October Crisis of 1962.

The maximum leader of the Cuban Revolution is in the underground hospital with a mechanical ventilator keeping him alive since he can no longer breathe on his own," he said.

According to his report," Fidel is requiring sophisticated medical machinery that is monitored 24 hours a day by Spanish and Russian doctors, who are in turn monitored by agents of Cuba's G2 Intelligence Service."

"Now, unconscious and under heavy sedation with his beard and mustached trimmed to allow better access for the medical equipment, he looks devastated, wasted away, without that aura of the man who attacked the Moncada Barracks or the one who said history would absolve him although it never did."
