Happy Anniversary!

Cuba Libre No. 2

Happy 10th anniversary to the Babalu blog family and its contributors!

This is one of the few places where you can find relevant information about the current state of affairs in Communist Cuba. This is also the place to gauge how Cuban-Americans feel about current-day affairs that have a relevance to Cuba.

You can find out the views of valiant human rights dissidents in Communist Cuba – from Yoani Sanchez to Dr. Oscar Elias Biscet. And you’ll be able to see for yourself that the views of these dissidents are not uniform on multiple issues. So, some favor lifting the U.S. embargo, while others refuse to do so and provide additional oxygen to a moribund regime.

But, one thing is for sure -- whether you find views from Democrats, Republicans, or Independents, whether you run into pro- or anti- embargo arguments, whether you like the immigration-reform posture embraced lately by Senator Marco Rubio -- we in the Babalu family share one thing in common: the restoration of democracy to our Isla Que Era Del Encanto, the Pearl of the Antilles.

But, a Cuba Post Castro will need to have room for all points of views. And, here at the Babalu blog, we lead by example.

Considering that most media outlets are not interested in airing the views of this community, this blog is a must-read for those who want to get a thorough assessment of Cuban affairs.
