They say, “You can pick your friends but you can’t pick your family”

Well, 'they' are wrong. Five years ago I discovered Babalu Blog and became a loyal reader and commenter. Four years ago the Babalu Blog Family adopted me into the family as a writer. As the time has ticked-by, our blood has become thicker and thicker. We share the importance of family. We also love and understand the true meaning of this great country and have grave concerns for where it is going in this turbulent world. And just as importantly we continue to hope for and dream of the day when freedom finally comes for the oppressed people of Cuba. Babalu Blog's heart and soul are centered on never forgetting the people of Cuba, and making certain the rest of the free world understands it is not the Utopia those of like-castro mind(s) try to propagandize it to be. Truth is a harsh cleanser of the lies and deception of the horrific communist failures that continue after these 54 years, and Babalu Blog is determined to catalog these deadly failures.

It has been a great ride actively blogging for Babalu these last four years. The Babalu Family have graciously allowed me to vent my concerns on the issues, and it has kept me sane throughout all of the growing madness we are all aware of going on in the world. I thank the writers, contributors, editors, and loyal readers for pulling a chair up to the table for me. You are my valuable family of friends. I look forward to many more years of sitting at the information table and chewing the proverbial fat with all of you.

(My youngest Grandbaby Matt banging on the bongo. I sang, "BA-BA-LUUUU!" and he has repeated it ever since ... every time he gets on that drum.)

Happy 10th Birthday, Babalu Blog. Well done! Here's to another 10 years ... and hoping and praying for "Libertad para Cuba!" within those next 10 years ahead to be displayed on these same pages.
