Quote of the day – President Obama supports Cuba’s freedom… sort of

During a speech in a Cape Town, South Africa university, President Obama described his commitment to sanctions against South Africa's apartheid government and his support for that country's freedom fighters. Therefore, it is only fair to deduce that President Obama must feel the same way about Cuba's apartheid dictatorship and the freedom fighters being imprisoned on the island.

"I knew that while brave people were imprisoned just off these shores on Robben Island, my own government in the United States was not standing on their side. That’s why I got involved in what was known as the divestment movement in the United States. [...] I remember struggling to express the anger and the passion that I was feeling, and to echo in some small way the moral clarity of freedom fighters an ocean away."
