Sad. Alvarez Guedes was Alvarez Guedes no matter the decade. From the kids who were told not to repeat such words to old men, everyone would crack up. It also mattered little if his records had been heard before, the jokes were so many and the tales so naturally delivered that the re-laugh value was warrantied.

He was a smart comedian, commentator, host, singer, and entrepreneur who, maybe unwillingly as an entertainer, became the epitome of Cuban essence and humor. He will never be forgotten by those who heard, and will hear, his work.

He was also a pretty good writer. His book, "El dia sue cayo fxxel cxxtro" is hilarious. A brilliant comedian and an astute observer of Cuban culture.
