Media hails another fraud (Diana Nyad)– “Same as it ever was” says David Byrne (many starting to question Nyad’s Swim.)
“Anyone with minimal open water experience should be at least a little bit skeptical, a poster named JBirrrd wrote on the blog. “The general public wants to believe this phenomenal success story of perseverance and overcoming enormous odds. The media is all too happy to package this feel-good story of the year and deliver it to the world. But one woman’s dream should not supersede the dreams of others. Be assured I will not be attempting this swim ever, but out of respect to those who have or will in the future, Diana and her team need to clarify exactly how this amazing feat was accomplished.”
From National Georgraphic Daily News:
"Even those who were hesitant to allege cheating brought up some concerns. Chief among them was the fact Nyad didn’t take an independent, credible observer, and that the only information on the swim has come from her camp. They’d like to see detailed data about her speed, the number of strokes, her feeding schedule, and Global Positioning System coordinates—not just to verify her claim, but the data could be used for future attempts by open-water marathon swimmers."
She's Gay, Greenie, Democratic. She hails Cuba's healthcare. She talks in vague feel-good, Oprah-like platitudes. She hung Che Guevara posters in her dorm --what's NOT to like for the media?
Birds of a feather. Notice the long history of fraudsters chumming up with modern history's top fraud. From Herbert Matthews to Ernest Hemingway, from Dan Rather to Charles Rangel, from etc. to etc--ALL FRAUDS!!!.....an earlier (and ongoing) Media Romance now comes to mind.
David Byrne helps explain the Nyad issue: "Same as it ever was--same as it ever was!" (media-wise)
