The terrorist attack against the United States on September 11, 2001, was a seminal event in our history, for America, and for us as individuals. Our liberty loving, patriotic hearts, Cuban and American, were broken, angered, and forever altered by the events of that day.
The love of freedom and the passionate desire for a free Cuba that drives us here at Babalú is inspired by the passion and vision of this nation’s great and wise Founding Fathers.
It is the legacy of their vision, their bravery, their unwavering faith in the unique premise that we are endowed with inalienable rights, and must not be governed by kings or dictators, but through self-determination that guides and sustains us. It is their legacy that remains still the beacon by which all those seeking freedom and a better life are guided.
The World Trade Towers, in their height and majesty were symbolic of this legacy. Their destruction, and the murder of nearly three thousand innocent Americans was a declaration of war. We remember, we will never forget the victims, and we will not surrender.
I believe in this land of the free, and home of the brave, and its people. I believe we will endure, and we the people, we will protect and defend this, the United States of America, under God, against all enemies, foreign and domestic.
May God bless America.
