Cuba: Three independent journalists arrested

The "reforms" of Cuban dictator Raul Castro keep rolling along...

Via Uncommon Sense:

Three Cuban independent journalists arrested

Few things frighten the Castro dictatorship than when an independent journalist dares to challenge the embargo the regime tries to enforce on news and information on the island. So it is never a surprise when the Castro police targets independent journalists for repression.

Via Twitter, Cuban independent journalist Roberto de Jesus Guerra reported Fridaythat three of his colleagues at the Hablemos Press news agency, one of the best established independent news agencies on the island, have been arrested and were being detained by the Castro police.

They are:

AguilaDavid Aguila

CacerWilliam Cacer

EceharriaMario Echevarria

Details of their arrests could not be determined. Another independent journalist, Frank Abel Garcia, tweeted earlier this evening that Cacer had been arrested near the Hablemos Press headquarters.
