Cuba's "grey autumn" of repression continued this week, with the "arbitrary and violent" arrest of more than 250 dissidents as they tried to gather to commemorate the second anniversary of the death of Laura Pollas, founder of the Cuban Ladies In White, according to the independent Hablemos Press news agency.
The detentions took place Oct. 11-14, according to a report from journalist William Cacer -- one of the dissidents swept up during the wave of arrests.
Cacer's report includes the name of 51 dissidents arrested in Havana and held at a jail known as Vivac. You can read the names here.
