Remembering Václav Havel and Oswaldo Payá Sardiñas

Via Notes from the Cuban Exile Quarter:

Former Cuban prisoner of conscience Regis Iglesias Ramirez remembers Václav Havel and Oswaldo Payá Sardiñas

"I have read somewhere that in a totalitarian system martyrdom does better than thought. I am a realist and as such far from the patriotic illusion that the world, due to its hopeless ignorance, remains deprived of some fabulous intellectual" - Václav Havel

"Two years without Havel, the friend. One year and five months without Oswaldo, the father. The world is more grey without them, but they will always live in our heart with their light they accompany us on the path." - Regis Iglesias Ramirez

Havel was the real deal. Mandela was not. Nobody who approves of a totalitarian tyranny like Cuba's deserves to be called a champion of freedom, because he simply is NOT.
