Quote of the Day – Military Junta in Cuba takes care of their own

In a New York Times article marveling over a new luxury apartment development the Castro dictatorship has built for the Military Junta’s faithful minions while Cubans are starving and selling their bodies to tourists to feed their families, the report ends with a telling quote from Translating Cuba’s Fernando Damaso:

“If you have a business run by military officers, when there’s a transition, you’re not going to get rid of all these people. This is a way to maintain a space for established powers in a future Cuban society.”
