Three more enslaved Cuban doctors sold to Brazil escape the plantation

Brazilian authorities admit that three more enslaved Cuban doctors the Castro dictatorship sold to the government have managed to escape. That brings the total number of escaped Cuban slaves in Brazil to five.

That's the thing about slaves... They have this thing about being free and if you give them an opportunity, they will make a run for it.

Via EFE in Venezuela's El Tiempo (my translation):

Brazilian Health Minister Arthur Chioro confirmed today that three Cuban doctors abandoned the public health posts to which they were assigned. That brings the total of supposed Cuban deserters to five.

Chioro told journalists that in addition to the cases already reported, three more Cuban physicians who were working in the remote areas of the states of Bahia, Pernambuco, and Maranhão, left the "More Doctors" program and their whereabouts were unknown. It is presumed they deserted.
