Quote[s] of the Day – It is all about freedom

Today we bring you two quotes of the day and both of them from the leaders of Venezuela's pro-democracy opposition.

The first, Maria Corina Machado in Martí Noticias (my translation):

La diputada opositora María Corina Machado.

"The struggle we are undertaking to liberate Venezuela from a brutal Castro-communist regime we are also undertaking to liberate the Cuban people. We are all one Latin American people. We as Venezuelans understand the tragedy of decades of oppression, of division, of poverty, of the ruin the Cuban people have been subjected to [...] Have confidence that our generation and all of us who love justice and liberty will be victorious. They will not stop us, they will not silence us, they will not divide us, they have instead given us more power during these trying times."

The second comes from imprisoned Venezuelan opposition leader Leopoldo Lopez in El Universal (my translation):

"I am prepared physically, mentally, spiritually, and my family as well, to take on the time in this prison that God allows. My best companion in the solitude of a prison cell is my innocence."

Venezuela proves beyond doubt that Latrine governments are FULL of SHIT--they'd rather support Castro, Inc. or one of its puppets than the actual people suffering under Castro-style oppression. It's ALL about political and ideological games, NOT real people and certainly NOT real democracy, justice or human rights. Disgusting beyond words.

These brave noble people could have so much more power if we had a moral president. How terrible that Obama is what we have instead. And where this situation is concerned the rest of the world doesn't have leaders that are much better.
