In the wake of the manufactured "Cuban Twitter" scandal, ETESCA, the only communications company in Cuba, which is owned solely by the repressive apartheid dictatorship of the Castro family, provides quite a clear and definitive defense of its complete monopoly over communications in Cuba (via Diario de Cuba - my translation):
