Charlie Crist really, REALLY said this–and on the record!

expertscharlie2

I SWEAR I am not making this up. I SWEAR I re-read the passage several times and checked and re-checked the publication's title. So I'm sure it's not a typo. Apparently it's a genuine quote by Crist and I'm sure it's not published in The Onion or Mad magazine.

"He (Crist) said he'd like to visit the island (Cuba) with a delegation of business, academic and economic development officials. He wants to meet with as many "regular" (Cuban) citizens as possible to discuss infrastructure needs and the embargo.

Crist, 57, said he is not interested in meeting with (Cuban) government officials there..."

Apparently, just like if he were visiting Belize or Denmark, Crist and his "economic develpment officials" will discuss infrastructure needs in Cuba with...apparently Cubans who have no links to the Cuban Government???!!!

Who is this guy's campaign manager, for crying out loud?! YES, abysmal ignorance about the totalitarian nature of Cuba (and totalitarianism in general) abounds nowadays. But but I'm guessing Crist would have to depend on a few Florida voters with a few functioning brain cells?

Because, you know, Crist couldn't possibly get any of this information from Cubans in FL. That would be just too prosaic, like asking "those people" anything about Castro, Inc. when you could ask a non-Cuban "expert" instead. He's obviously aiming at non-Cuban voters with this BS, unless he's too stupid for words, and he's not stupid, just excruciatingly slippery. He should really change his name to Charlie Crisco.
