Happy Mother’s Day to our “mamis cubanas”

momreception

All of us have a picture like this in our photo books.

This is my mom Angela in Ciego de Avila, her hometown.   It's the kind of picture that reminds us of our elegant moms and a happier Cuba.

We remembered Cuban mothers with a couple of our "cubanito friends".......

Our guests were  Amarilys Gacio Rassler, author of "Cuban-American Dancing on the hyphen", a wonderful book about growing up in the US.

and Marta Sosa, host of "Cubanarama", a BTR show.    Marta does a show in English and Spanish.  She covers many topics, from book interviews to speaking with musicians to a little humor.

Enjoy the show and tell your mom how much you appreciate the sacrifice that she made for all of us:
