Happy Mother’s Day

Osvaldo Farres

I dedicate the following song to all the wonderful mothers of the world. The song was composed by Cuban song-writer Osvaldo Farrés (1903-1985), who composed hits like “Quizás, Quizás, Quizás”; “Acercate Mas”; “Tres Palabras”; and “Toda Una Vida.” “Madrecita” is considered Farrés’ most popular song in Cuba, although it is hardly remembered in the diaspora. He wrote it in honor of his own mother.
