“I’m in with the in crowd,” sings former Bush Sec. of Commerce Carlos Gutierrez ( who Flip-Flops totally–now backs Obama on Cuba)

“I’m in with the in crowd
I go where the in crowd goes
I’m in with the in crowd
And I know what the in crowd knows”

(Dobie Gray, 1964)

“We should continue with Obama’s policy towards Cuba. We have nothing to lose.” (Former Bush Sec. of Commerce Carlos Gutierrez to Spain’s El Pais, May 31, 2015)

“Cuba has managed to make clear that she is not a yankee colony…Now there’s new leadership in Cuba. Raúl Castro has announced that he’ll retire in 2018, so there will be a succession in Cuba. Which is to say the situation is changing and it appears that an opportunity exists to that hasn’t been there till now….Now, the U.S. business sector that has normally been a part of the Republican establishment is in favor of relations with Cuba but the Cuban-American community is opposed to this and there are politicians who are very close to that community. so it’s a very interesting theme because it will have a big role in the upcoming campaign and I believe the Republicans will be divided on that issue.”

Carlos Gutierrez May 30, 2015.)

Now, when Gutierrez was in his Julius Kelp (Nutty Professor) mode he vehemently opposed Obama’s Cuba policy. As seen in a Time mag. interview from Dec. 18:

buddy love2

“Former Commerce Secretary Carlos Gutierrez told TIME Thursday that the U.S. “will have egg on our face” following President Barack Obama’s move to normalize diplomatic relations with Cuba…”This has been a very lopsided agreement, and I can tell you that the (Castroite) Cubans today feel that they have had a major victory. This is a major political win for Raúl Castro; the fact that we recognize them diplomatically is a major political win” Carlos Gutierrez to Time magazine Dec. 18, 2014.)

Some canaries had been singing in the coal mine for a while announcing Gutierrez’ transformation into Buddy Love. To wit:

buddy
Gutierrez helped found a Super PAC titled: “Republicans for Immigration Reform.”

And is now a business partner of former Clinton Sec. of State Madeline Albright.

  1. This guy’s a nothing and always was. Nobody much cares where he stands nor does it matter, but he disgusts me, because this is the kind of politician that set up Cuba for the fall. Worthless, useless POS.

  2. Considering the enormity of Cuba’s disaster and the implicit disgrace, the very least Cubans can do is to avoid the slightest semblance of indignity like the plague, especially Cubans in the public eye. Obviously, we still have serious problems in that department. As I said, disgusting.

  3. “Cuba has managed to make clear that she is not a yankee colony.” WTF? Is this 1965? That’s a line straight out of VERY old Castro propaganda. What the hell does that have to do with the current situation? Can this guy possibly be as stupid and out of it as that sounds? Sheesh.
