Rolling Stones (who boycotted Apartheid South Africa) arrive in (Apartheid/Stalinist) Cuba ( to produce tourism commercial and further enrich racist regime)

The scenes above depict the treatment of blacks by the Stalinist regime which will be netting  $ billions  as a direct result of the tourism commercial gleefully produced for them by the Rolling Stones today. ( Above right, please note the race of the Castroite firing squad and it’s commander –as compared to the race of their (untried) victim on Jan. 12, 1959. Usually liberals condemn  such things as “lynchings!”)

The Rolling Stones are reknown for their tributes to black music and musicians–and often ape their  “anti-racism” for the international media.  Keith Richards and Ron Wood, for instance,  were both  proud and prominent in “Artists United Against Apartheid,” condemning and boycotting Apartheid South Africa.

But The Rolling Stones  will now help entrench and enrich a Stalinist regime that jailed and tortured the most and longest-suffering black political prisoners in the modern history of the Western hemisphere–many, MANY more than did Apartheid South Africa in fact. Full documentation for this racist horror found here.

(Fidel Castro cannot thank his business partners enough)

The “edgy” and “rebellious” and “anti-establishment” Rolling Stones recently grovelled for permission from racist/Stalinist octogenarians (who once criminalized their music and herded many of its listeners into forced-labor camps at Soviet bayonet-point) to play in their police state. (i.e. produce a free tourism commercial for the Stalinists.)

(Raul Castro can only snicker at his good fortune)

The permission was granted and the “rebellious” and “snarky”  Rolling Stones (who boycotted South Africa’s Sun City) are scheduled to gratefully and obediently play with the good graces of the racist/Stalinists in Havana on March 25th.

In fact, while the Rolling Stones perform Brown Sugar in Havana black women will probably be (literally) whipped by Stalinist police and goon-squads within walking distance of the concert venue–and not only “just around mid-night.”

Too bad Brian Jones isn’t around to participate in this truly “historic” event..

“Le RRRONCA!!!”

Keith Richards and Ron Wood were both  proud and prominent in “Artists United Against Apartheid” condemning and boycotting Apartheid South Africa. , which jailed many FEWER black political prisoners than did Castro’s Cuba, and treated them much more decently.

  1. They look really old and really shriveled–in other words, DESSICATED, as in dried up. Maybe they should change their name to The Gallstones. Well, despite the glaring hypocrisy involved, this is perfectly “normal” for people in their world, and they’ve never posed as paragons of virtue or sold themselves as moral or spiritual guides. Their hedonism has always been front-and-center, and I suppose they couldn’t resist getting this kind of satisfaction. It’s not as if the usual suspects will find any fault with this, but quite the contrary: “Ooooh, the openness! Ooooh, the progress!” You get the idea–and trust me, so do they.

And by the way, their concert is on Good Friday? That should make “Sympathy for the Devil” take on new meaning, though just playing Havana now already does.

  2. Apparently, the official musical establishment on the island is all agog over these legends in their midst (after all, we’re not talking Juanes here), and nobody seems to remember when they were banned as decadent imperialist abominations. I expect the Stones will be perfectly gracious and give their hosts no cause for regret. And the band played on.

  3. I expect that, by now, what matters to the Stones is obviously not money or even fame, but maintaining the sense that they’ve still got it, that they’re still appealing and potent as ever, that they’re effectively ageless (though they can’t possibly see themselves in the mirror or photos the way they actually are, because they’re downright painful to look at, not to say pathetic–son unos guiñapos destartalados).

Of course they don’t NEED Cuba, but Cuba is desperate and hungry from being denied and deprived for decades, and it is more likely to give the Stones the kind of reaction they crave than places where the Stones are familiar old news and there are copious other choices, including much fresher ones.

Hence, the Cuba concert, which is no doubt costing the Stones a pretty penny, even if they can afford it. In a way, it’s like old men offered the prospect of eager, willing and even ravenous virgins. Who could resist?
