Normalization Update: Another Sunday, Another Wave of Repression in Cuba

From Diario de Cuba:

Castronoid goons attack dissidents again, as they do every Sunday

Security forces of the Castro Regime arrested at least 45 Ladies in White in Havana, Matanzas, Santiago de Cuba and Guantánamo yesterday, preventing them from attending church or taking part in the #TodosMarchamos campaign, which advocates the release of all political prisoners.

Berta Soler, leader of the Ladies in White told Diario de Cuba that State Security goons had been surrounding her house since dawn last wednesday morning, and that they prevented anyone from assembling at the headquarters of her organization.

Soler also revealed that State Security goons prevented several Ladies in White from leaving their homes.

Berta Soler was arrested as she tried to leave her house, and so was dissident Angel Moya.

Shortly before being arrested, Soler said: “One’s home is not a prison cell. We will go out to claim our freedom and our right to express ourselves and to protest peacefully,”

Dissident Ariel González Cueva reports that Soler and Moya were brutally beaten by “paramilitary mobs, State Security agents, and the police.”

Moya was assaulted by a group of men, and Soler by men and women.

González Cueva could hear Berta Soler screaming, “dont hit me!, don’t hit me!” (no me den, no me den. )
