Videos of the Day: A stampede at a Cuban store in Havana just to buy hot dogs

Suffering the misery of endless meat and food shortages, communism has reduced Cubans to desperation, leading them to stampede into a store in Havana just to get something as meager as a hot dog.

Via CiberCuba (my translation):

A huge crowd gathered outside a well-known supermarket on 3rd and 70, in the exclusive Miramar neighborhood of Havana, began to run wildly into the establishment when it opened its door in an attempt to buy hot dogs.

The incident took place on Friday and was captured on video by a worker at the supermarket who was inside.

“You can say it but no one would believe you, all for hot dogs,” the man can be heard saying before stating there were “only a few” left.

“The only hot dogs left are outside,” another employee added.

The video shows hundreds of people desperately running to get into the store. The same could be seen inside the supermarket, where another video shows how they all hurriedly search for food.
