Frankly, the alliance of the communist left and radical Islam gives me nightmares. I first became aware of this frightening trend years ago when my husband and I noticed a definite anti-Israel bias in LA Times articles on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Always, always, these biased articles were penned by liberals, supposedly the tolerant, peace loving defenders of human rights. What do jihadists and the left have in common? Hatred of Judeo-Christian civilization, and an agenda for power, their prime targets being the United States and Israel, who stand as twin pillars of freedom and democracy, entrusted as protectors of mankind's inalienable rights, granted only by God.

Remember, just months before the terrorist attacks of 9-11, in May 2001, Fidel Castro told a cheering crowd of Muslim students at the University of Tehran, "Together we will bring America to its knees," he wasn't joking. The war following the attacks provided a perfect opportunity for this enemy to go on the offense. With ally Obama in the White House, their operations became overt, the so-called Arab Spring, and the rise of Muslim Brotherhood their first victory. Who carries the saber for these destructive radicals bent on war and destruction? The left dominated and Soros funded MSM, thats who. CNN, long dubbed the Castro News Network, can now also be called the Crescent News Network.

From Jean-Patrick Grumberg for www.Dreuz.info, via Atlas Shrugged:

Breaking News: CNN Israel fired all Jewish Journalists

The media scandal that you are about to read was revealed to us by a totally reliable source.

It is likely to provoke a wave of shock and indignation within the North American media industry, and it certainly will not calm down the controversy over the pro-palestinian CNN treatment of the conflict.

We learned today that the Israeli branch of CNN, located in Jerusalem, is downsizing to cope with reduced income from less advertising.

What goes beyond good management is that CNN has fired four Israeli Jewish journalists (out of a crew of 8), and has retained only Arab journalists. Where, until now, CNN always sent a Jewish and an Arab journalist to cover information, now there will be only an Arab journalist. The local chief editor of the News Chanel is now Arabic.

This is a conflict where information is central to public opinion, and it weighs a lot on diplomatic decisions. Furthermore, it is no secret that Arab journalists cannot freely publish what they want without risking for their own lives when traveling to Gaza, East Jerusalem, and Judea Samaria. Thus, CNN decision to fire all Jewish journalists from its Jerusalem office is of particular concern, because the general public is unaware that they will be receiving biased information.

Update at 8:30 PST: we just received the names of the four journalists that were fired:

Moshe Cohen, editor, fired on january 30, 10 years with CNN.

Izi Landberg, Producer, about 25 years with CNN, fired on January 30.

Avi Kaner cameraman fired on january 30, 10 years with CNN.

Michal Zippori desk producer, situation still unclear.

"Democracy" ... Somebody can serve you rattle snake and tell you "it tastes just like chicken", but it's still rattle snake.

Egypt held their first elections since the Obama administration helped influence the ousting of ally Hosni Mubarak from the country's leadership. As expected the country's secular government is now about to convert to an Islamic theocracy as Egypt's Islamist parties won 75% of parliament:

CAIRO - Final results on Saturday showed that Islamist parties won nearly three-quarters of the seats in parliament in Egypt's first elections since the ouster of authoritarian president Hosni Mubarak, according to election officials and political groups.

The Islamist domination of Egypt's parliament has worried liberals and even some conservatives about the religious tone of the new legislature, which will be tasked with forming a committee to write a new constitution. It remains unclear whether the constitution will be written while the generals who took power after Mubarak's fall are still in charge, or rather after presidential elections this summer.

In the vote for the lower house of parliament, a coalition led by the fundamentalist Muslim Brotherhood won 47 percent, or 235 seats in the 498-seat parliament. The ultraconservative Al-Nour Party was second with 25 percent, or 125 seats.

[...]

Muslim Brotherhood lawmaker Mohammed el-Beltagi said the new parliament represents "the wish of the Egyptian people."

Egypt's elections commission acknowledged that there were voting irregularities, but the vote has been hailed as the country's freest and fairest in living memory.

The liberals who spearheaded the revolt that toppled Mubarak struggled to organize and connect with a broader public in the vote, and did not fair as well as the Islamists. [...]

So, the Egyptian people, in what is being presented as their first "democratic" election, may have just used their first exercise of democracy to vote themselves out of a democracy. The Muslim Brotherhood is claiming it does not seek to force its views about "an appropriate Islamic lifestyle" (Shariah Law) on Egyptians, but I would gather the Al-Nour Party may just have something to say about that. And never discount the outside influence of those not holding seats in the government. It is also important to note that while the MB claims the country will not force Islam on others living within Egypt, some citizens, Coptic Christians in particular, are not so convinced as the violence and oppression against them increases.

The U.S. State Department is meeting with Muslim Brotherhood party leaders, and Sec. of State Hillary Clinton has phoned the Egyptian Foreign Minister Mohammed Amr, following-up an earlier call by Obama to Field Marshal Hussein Tantawi:

US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton on Saturday called Egypt's foreign minister to discuss the country's economic and political situation, as well as events in Syria, the State Department said.

It said the telephone call covered the same ground as President Barack Obama's discussion with Field Marshal Hussein Tantawi on Friday, which the White House said was focused on Egypt's need for a democratic transition. [...]

So, the Obama Administration wants a 'democratic' transition from a secular Egypt to an apparent, and possibly inevitable, theocracy, and the current military control needs to comply. Begs the question, "Or what?"

Not to be left out, Jimmy Carter is urging the Obama Administration to support Egypt's Islamists ... in the interests of democracy, of course:

"What has happened in Egypt boosts democracy and freedom," Carter was quoted by CNN as saying.

He added that Egypt now has the opportunity to form a democratic government elected by the people; it also has the same opportunity as free societies to achieve freedom and human rights.

Carter said he considers the US objections to the Islamists' win in Palestine, referring to the Hamas movement, to have been a mistake, stressing that this mistake won’t be repeated with Egypt.

"I think it was a big mistake. Maybe we would now have peace in the Middle East if we had recognised a new, elected new government and supported and worked with it," he commented, adding that this what we have learnt now in Egypt.

"We are now behaving differently, by giving the Islamists the chance to rule,” he commented.

Remember, Jimmy Carter is the godfather of our present day Iran. Islam does not recognize "freedom and human rights" ... especially of women, raped women, un-covered women, girls attending school, female genitals, young virginal boys, gays, a variety of farm animals, non-Muslims, moderate Muslims, fellow radical Muslims, certain geometric shapes, certain delicious animal products, Christians, Jews, and Buddhists, sovereignty and laws of other nations, tall buildings and commercial airliners, and free speech.

Libya, following Obama's kinetic operation that ousted Muammar Gaddafi, looks to be going down the road Egypt is, only a bit quicker and without benefit of election. The country might see a real civil war before anyone claims any sort of victory in controlling the country. Already those we armed are insisting Sharia be instituted, and some are not waiting for any sort of election or constitution to impose the fundamental Islamic law. Libya is far from 'settled', post-Gaddafi. Apparently there is no room for moderate Muslims in the newly "liberated' Libya. There too are outside influences pushing for control, and anything but democracy.

The Arab/Muslim/Islamic world is talking to the rest of the world and is spiteful and emboldened, but we seem not to be listening. From Bill Roggio at The Long War Journal:

The al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula commander who took control of a town in central Yemen late last week has released a short videotape urging Muslims "to unite and be patient" as "the Islamic Caliphate is coming."

Tariq al Dhahab, the leader of the al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula forces that seized the town of Rada'a in Baydah province last weekend, made the statement in a 54-second-long video on YouTube that was released on Jan. 18. The statement was translated by the SITE Intelligence Group.

"So, be patient, perseverant, and stationed," Dhahab told the "Muslim Ummah," or community. "The Islamic Caliphate is coming, with permission from Allah, and it will be established, even if we sacrifice our own skulls, money, children and homes."

How serious is this Islamic Caliphate movement? Islamic flag over the White House: Radical Muslims want America ruled by Shariah...

The "Arab Spring" has also resulted in an increase of anti-Semitism not just in the Middle East but in Europe. Radical Islam has been enabled over the last three years of Obama's laughable extending of an unclenched fist. They literally see him as weak and a failure, as a recent secret letter to Iran's Ayatollah Khamenei resulted in scoffing at the would be world leader. And he believes all he need do in Afghanistan is convince the Taliban to renounce its terrorist ties in order to have "peace talks".

For the last few years people have been poo-pooing the fact that terror groups, <a href="http://frontpagemag.com/2011/07/13/hezbollah-sets-up-shop-in-mexico/ "target="_blank">such as Hezbollah, have been training the Mexican drug cartels in Mexico, and Central and South America (more <a href="http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/17874369/ns/world_news-americas/t/hezbollah-builds-western-base/"target="_blank">here and <a href="http://archive.frontpagemag.com/readArticle.aspx?ARTID=11889"target="_blank">here), with the USA as the target in-mind. Do they really think it's all just anti-American hand-holding comradery photo-ops between <a href="http://latino.foxnews.com/latino/news/2011/12/06/irans-growing-latin-american-ties-raise-us-terror-fears/"target="_blank">Venezuela's Hugo Chávez and Iran's Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

I have no doubt this is being done <a href="http://www.signonsandiego.com/news/2011/jan/26/controversial-muslim-cleric-caught-sneaking-into-t/"target="_blank">in exchange for the Mexican drug cartels' assistance in <a href="http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1177082/posts"target="_blank">crossing the border into the United States. When I started blogging a couple years after September 11, 2001, I was aware of American border ranchers/farmers reporting to Border Patrol they were hearing illegals crossing onto their properties, and passing very uncomfortably close to their houses in the dead of night. The accents and language they were hearing was NOT Mexican or South American... but Middle Eastern.

On or about the early morning hours of June 13, 2004 Border patrol agents from the Willcox station encountered a large group of suspected illegal border crossers, estimated to be around 158, just east of the Sanders Ranch near the foothills of the Chiricauha Mountains. 71 suspected illegal aliens were apprehended; among them were 53 males of middle-eastern descent. According to a Border Patrol field agent, the men were suspected to be Iranian or possibly Syrian nationals. “One thing’s for sure: these guys didn’t speak Spanish and after we questioned them harder we discovered they spoke poor English with a middle-eastern accent; then we caught them speaking to each other in Arabic…this is ridiculous that we don't take this more seriously, and we’re told not to say a thing to the media...

Just about a year ago <a href="http://cnsnews.com/node/62027"target="_blank">DHS Sec. Janet Napolitano stated as much was happening, without committing, of course...

Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano told senators it is a national security concern that people from countries with ties to terrorism could 'potentially' gain entry into the United States by crossing the country’s southern border.

But according to the Department of Homeland Security’s own reports, thousands of people from 14 “special interest” countries already have come into the United States illegally, including some across the U.S.-Mexico border. (The State Department designates some nations as "special interest" counties because of their links to terrorism.)

[...]

“On the human trafficking side, it’s not solely illegal immigrants coming to work, but the ability of people from countries of special interest to immigrate into Central America and be ferried up to the border and over into the United States is also a concern.”

McCain responded: “Countries of special interest – people could come up through our southern border?”

“Potentially, yes,” Napolitano said.

The State Department lists four special interest countries as sponsors of terror – Cuba, Sudan, Syria and Iran. The other 10 countries of interest are: Afghanistan, Algeria, Iraq, Lebanon, Libya, Nigeria, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Somalia and Yemen.

Yet, just a year later <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fBbtlefR-oQ"target="_blank">"Big Sis" still insists the Mexico/USA border <a href="http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0311/51925.html"target="_blank">“is better now than it ever has been”. This, in the face of the escalated violence in Mexico just a stone-throw from U.S. soil, and <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4JVZehLk7jA"target="_blank">frustrating U.S. law enforcement on the border, and <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MMgKp8sQVis&feature=related"target="_blank">leaving them all on their own. That last link, a mention of "more regulations against the export of guns that are fueling the fire in Mexico" ... but <a href="http://babalublog.com/?s=fast+and+furious&submit.x=17&submit.y=13"target="_blank">we all now know how THAT came about, no? (As a matter of fact, the DOJ documents Rep. Issa has been demanding from Eric Holder, but isn't getting, are from this hearing's time period.)

For the last couple years you can see the training in the cartels' practices of increased <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qvoQKmX1F30"target="_blank">elaborate tunneling under the <a href="http://www.wjla.com/articles/2011/11/agents-discover-elaborate-drug-smuggling-border-tunnel-69790.html"target="_blank">Mexico/USA border, <a href="http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/centralamericaandthecaribbean/mexico/8249042/14-beheaded-in-resort-of-Acapulco-in-escalating-drug-gang-feud.html"target="_blank">beheadings, <a href="http://www.aolnews.com/2010/09/28/another-mayor-murdered-in-mexico-this-time-by-stoning/"target="_blank">stonings, the use of <a href="http://www.csmonitor.com/World/Americas/2010/0718/Mexico-car-bomb-Colombianization-of-Mexico-nearly-complete"target="_blank">car bombs, mass graves, and <a href="http://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2007/12/latino-islamic-terror-hezbollah-shows-off-their-latin-bombers/"target="_blank">future suicide-bombers.

Now comes this ... <a href="http://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2011/12/breaking-islamic-terrorist-groups-plot-attacks-on-america-from-latin-america-video/"target="_blank">Jim Hoft at The Gateway Pundit is reporting:

Perhaps, however, we should deploy all the TSA agents on the U.S./Mexico border. Maybe then they might find somebody more closely resembling a terrorist there <a href="http://www.local10.com/news/Elderly-complain-about-pants-search-at-airport/-/1717324/4881644/-/ov0t3e/-/index.html"target="_blank">than they have in the last couple years of groping people in the airports. Not to worry ... I am certain this administration has its head screwed-on straight in this particular matter. <a href="http://cnsnews.com/news/article/obama-administration-welcoming-islamic-group-washington-discussion-tolerance"target="_blank">Well, somebody's screwed.

As a footnote ... Did you hear about a lone gunman that opened fire at the intersection of Sunset Boulevard and Vine Street in Hollywood yesterday? Witnesses said the man was yelling something as he was shooting randomly at motorists and pedestrians. <a href="http://www.humanevents.com/article.php?id=48075"target="_blank">Know what it was? Maybe he just couldn't think of anything else to scream in his moment of insanity...

September 11, 2001 became the defining moment of my political life. All the never thought of lessons of patriotism taught by my parents and educators, and reinforced by a childhood filled with 4th of July celebrations, all the carefully chosen books, movies and culture I was exposed to crystallized that day. It was the moment when I truly understood my parents, how they must have felt when Pearl Harbor was attacked, and the ensuing long dark days of war. It was the moment when I recognized the focused strength of determination, bravery and faith that defined their greatest generation. Watching the horror unfold that day, I knew that now it was our turn to carry the mantle of freedom on our shoulders.

To date, I remain disappointed by our response, and it seems as though September 11 remembrances are memorials to national grief rather than the call of arms they should be.

Daniel Greenfield sums it up:

September 11 is not the day we cry, it is the day we get angry. It is the day we remember who our killers were, how many have been lost, and how little has been done to bring down the ideology responsible as completely as they brought the towers down. It is the day we remember not to forget. It is the day we remember that the war has just begun and that until it ends, there can be no comfort or solace. The fight goes on.

Please read his wonderul essay, Memorials of Grief, from his blog, Sultan Knish:

It was around the time of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, that memorials stopped being remembrances of virtue, and became therapy sessions. The old statues of determined men gave way to empty spaces to represent loss. Their lessons of courage and sacrifice, were replaced by architecture as therapy session, clean geometrical shapes, reflective pools and open areas in which to feel grief at what was lost and then let go of it.

September 11 memorials have inevitably followed this same pattern, empty spaces, still pools of water groves and names tastefully inscribed in row after row. How do you tell the Ground Zero memorial from the Oklahoma City memorial? The Oklahoma City memorial has one reflecting pool and the September 11 memorial has two pools.

There is no larger meaning to these memorials and there isn't supposed to be one. A hundred years from now they will be nothing more than giant pools surrounded by trees with nothing to say. These new memorials are not about teaching us to remember... but about helping us to forget.

To find a memorial that actually in some way addresses what happened on September 11. you would have to leave New York to go across the river to New Jersey where the much maligned Teardrop hanging between a torn tower at least represents something concrete, even if it is more grief and pain. Unlike the useless winged shapes of the Staten Island Memorial and the Pentagon Memorial, it at least acknowledges that something terrible happened here and transforms into a symbolic image.

But the abstract symbolism is still the problem. There's an American eagle overlooking the Battery Park World War II memorial a few blocks from Ground Zero, but to find an American eagle on a memorial to the attacks you have to travel 30 miles across the river to Allendale, New Jersey.

The official September 11 memorial has sustainable architecture, but Dumont, NJ with a per capita income of 26,000 dollars managed to acquire and place one of the steel beams from the World Trade Center as their memorial.

The closest to a traditional memorial that tells you what actually happened and why it matters, as opposed to handing you a three acre handkerchief of empty spaces and waterfalls, is across the street from the monstrosity of emptiness. Just turn your back to it, cross Liberty Street and walk up to Firehouse Ten where the FDNY Memorial Wall depicts the events of the day in bronze. You may have to dodge some trucks and search for it underneath the scaffolding, but it's there.

That's more than can be said for the identity of the attackers which is invariably absent, except as a crescent that pops up ominously in memorial design after design, entirely by accident of course. But the memorials are not about history, they exist only to allow us to release our grief and move on by expressing life-affirming sentiments in response to this "tragedy" through community service that helps others.

From cries for revenge to serving soup to the homeless at a community kitchen-- that is the intended trajectory. If it hasn't worked as well as intended, as shown by the people who gathered to loudly celebrate Osama bin Laden's death, instead of sighing at the cycle of violence, this is the long game.

The Pew polls show a steady growth in the number those who believe that American wrongdoing led to the attacks-- from a third after the attacks, to 43 percent today. Give the enemy another decade to do its work and those numbers will be in the sixties. And their game is simple enough, remove the actual history and the images of the massacres-- and replace it with an emphasis on foreign policy. Mix in news stories about Islamophobia, stir the pot a little and you're done.

Numbers like that are why Obama was able to win and why Ron Paul is polling better than ever. When revisionist history becomes mainstream, then people will accept anything so long as it sounds good. So long as it lets them forget.

Alongside the usual Noam Chomsky 9-11 essay collections and conspiracy theory books on display on Amazon and at every bookstore; those who want purely fictional history can get pick up a copy of Amy Waldman's The Submission about a 'secular' Muslim architect's 9/11 memorial and the bigotry he experiences from the right-wing.

Or if they want to dig through the remainders bin, there's John Updike's next to last novel, Terrorist, an overwritten teen novel by one of America's most famous literary authors, who shares his protagonist's hatred for the country. "They can't ask for a more sympathetic and, in a way, more loving portrait of a terrorist," Updike said of his book. 'They' being the literary critics, not the Taliban who don't need to rely on the author of 'Rabbit Run' for that sort of thing.

Finally there's 'Forgetfulness' by Ward Just, whose title encompasses the literary goal of the left in the story of a man who loses his wife to terrorists but avoids the "climate of revenge" and the "anger of the sort that swept all before it... the anger of the American . . . after September 11". Instead he learns to relate to the men who murdered his wife.

Forgetfulness is the underlying theme of everything. Stop being angry. Stop being vengeful. Forget!

It is the commandment that echoes from the empty spaces and the revisionist histories, the slabs of events gouged out and dumped as landfill in Staten Island or sold off in bulk to China. The endless degradation of memory turned into a national ritual. A way to test ourselves to see how much better we feel about it-- how much more we accept what happened on that day as being in the past.

Drown history in enough reflecting pools and it stops mattering. Put up enough empty benches and people will remember to forget. Tell them that they're courageous for moving on and they'll admire themselves for putting it all behind them. And if they won't forget, then fill them with grief until they can't take it anymore and willingly forget.

But by all means avoid outrage, keep messy emotions like anger out of the way. Anger is not part of the healing process, which begins with an empty bench and ends with a visit to a mosque to reconcile with your killers. It retards the process, it says, "Hey wait, we're not done here yet!" It says, "These bastards are still walking around here plotting to kill us." It says, "They're building a mosque right here to look down on your reflecting pools." And all that is most unhelpful.

Let's take a brief detour from all the forgetting and travel up Broadway some eighty or so blocks to Central Park. There at the entrance to the park stands the Maine Monument to the hundreds of dead in the destruction of the USS Maine. There are no reflecting pools or geometrical shapes here. Instead there is a warrior, the figure of justice and the representation of the dying avenged by Columbia Triumphant, standing atop, cast in bronze out of the guns of the lost ship.

The New York Times, being what it always was, sniffed at it as a "cheap disfigurement" and the history of the war has since been revised to American jingoism and the sinking of the Maine is invariably described as an accident. If this goes on, we will no doubt live to see experts promoting the theory that it wasn't the suicide attacks that killed thousands of Americans on September 11, but the flaws of the buildings.

Yet the Maine Memorial is still there towering above them all. In bold text so different from the carefully selected fonts of modern memorials it proclaims unashamedly; "The Freemen Who Died in the War with Spain that Others Might be Free." And of the men who died on the Maine it declaims: "Valiant Seamen who Perished on the Maine by Fate Unwarned, in Death Unafraid."

There are mourning figures on the memorial and there is grief and pain, but it takes place in the context of a larger struggle. The struggle against those who committed the crime and the triumph of a nation against those who would attack it.

It is inconceivable that anything so bold and proud would ever go up at Ground Zero. The culture that represented virtues through the figures of men and women has given way to one that represents abstract feelings in geometrical shapes and reflecting pools. It is why we have no new buildings like the Empire State Building, and why we won't even be able to replace the stark geometry of the WTC with anything but smaller 'green' buildings which exist as a calculated show of ugliness and a rejection of human aspiration.

On the way back from Central Park, stop by the Bank of America Tower, the second tallest building in New York, the most ecologically friendly tall building in the world constructed by Obama's BOA pals. And I defy you to spend more than a minute looking at it and then describe it. It isn't just ugly, it's forgettable. Your eyes move past it even as they look at it. Its peak is a deliberate mockery of symmetry and order.

Then pass by the New York Times Building, the fourth tallest building in the city, in hock to Mexican-Arab billionaire Carlos Slim, built through eminent domain and seizures with money from the Lower Manhattan Development Fund, even though it's firmly in midtown. Then repeat the same exercise with this glorified apartment building. Again you come away with nothing, because nothing is there.

Finaly after you pass by the Bloomberg Tower, even more devoid of personality, the jumbled twin towers of Time Warner Center opposite the Maine Memorial, and the rest of them all, return to the site of the former Twin Towers, and look up at the Woolworth Building, once the tallest building in the city. It hasn't been for a long time, but yet it is. It stands as a monument to human endeavors. And that is what makes it human.

Let us consider what memorials are for and what skyscrapers are for. Are they meant to be empty spaces or are they ways of reminding us who we are?

We don't need more holes in the ground, more places to feel empty and alone. What we need are things to aspire to. The World Trade Center's towers were not targets of convienence, no more than the Saudi and Emirati skyscraper building spree is. Towers are symbols of achievement. They are guardians of the skyline who remind us of what we can accomplish.

The terrorists and the memorial makers have a common purpose-- to make us forget what we are capable of. To drown us in our own pain and grief, to make us drink of the Lethe waters of reflecting pools until we forget who we are. The terrorists and the memorials have done their best to break us. But it is not in grief that we must remember the day. Grief is for the forgone conclusion. But though thousands upon thousands are lost-- we are not yet lost. And the war is not over.

The holes in the ground are not symbols of grief, or empty places in our hearts, they are open wounds inflicted on us by our enemies. Filling them with water will not change that, only anesthetize the pain of a fatal injury. To forget that is to sink into a mirage and die in delirium that we are recovering.

The attacks of September 11 are not a time for reflection, or personal remembrance, but a sharp reminder that we are bleeding. And we can only bleed for so long before we die. There are worse things out there than four hijacked planes used as missiles. There are actual missiles and suitcase nukes, nerve gas, toxins and whatever else can be dredged out of laboratories by Western trained researchers.

And even worse than these is the endless struggle, the constant waiting for another attack, the security measures meant to keep us safe while imprisoning us in our own security, the waiting for the day when an attack succeeds. The day we die.

A video remembrance from The Daily Caller.

Ten years have passed since 19 men hijacked 4 commercial airliners, destroying the World Trade Center towers and part of the Pentagon. For many, September 11th, 2001 will always be remembered as a day that changed life in America. Most will disagree on what those changes mean, but on this anniversary of those tragic terrorist attacks, we spoke with a few who were willing to share their experiences and thoughts.

Last week, a series of audio recordings were released by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) that detailed the aviation response on that horrible day. The New York Times has created a page that allows you hear the tapes with a rolling transcript. Kudos to them for doing this. They also have an article that explains the release. Rutgers University Law Review has also released a more complete transcript with downloadable MP3 files.

Do yourselves a favor and listen. We must never forget what happened on that awful, awful day.

Here is my 9/11 essay from 2009, reedited for this anniversary:

* * *

Ten Years. It's been ten years. The tears still well up and my body tenses with anger whenever I see footage of that morning. Photos, videos, audio, it doesn't matter. It still affects me the same way. I've been feeling like crap for over a week and I know it's this anniversary, this remembrance, this reliving of those events. As I've done each and every year since the events of that day, I watch the Fox News and ABC News coverage of the event as archived here. This is one of my rituals since the first anniversary; I don't ever want to forget what happened that morning. And ten years on, nothing has changed, the feelings are the same. September 11, 2001 is the watershed event of the second half of my life.

This iteration of our war with "radical" Islam began on November 4, 1979 in Tehran, Iran. 2009 marked the thirtieth anniversary of the takeover of our embassy, an act of war for all, except liberals and progressives. Four years later, the Marine Corps barracks in Beirut was blown up, and my favorite president left the Middle East instead of taking the war to them; the Achille Lauro was hijacked in 1985 highlighted by the heroic act of throwing an invalid Jew overboard; TWA Flight 103 in 1988, an event recently brought back into the limelight by the condition of the only convicted Libyan terrorist in that country's perilous civil war; the First Gulf War in 1990, with its indecisive and portentous resolution; the cold and snowy February 26, 1993, when the World Trade Center was attacked for the first time by Ramzi Yousef and the apostles of the blind Sheik Rahman; the Khobar Towers in Saudi Arabia in 1996; the US Embassies in Tanzania and Kenya in 1998, on the same day, within minutes of each other (two more acts of war); and the attack on the USS Cole in 2000 -- yet another act of war, as if the previous three were insufficient for the appeasers, the hand-wringers, and the cowards. All of these events preceded the events in New York City ten years ago.

It’s not as though we hadn’t been warned.

On that Tuesday morning ten years ago, so clear and blue and beautiful, I was freelancing at a nationally-known retail company that owns hundreds of stores in malls all over the United States. Two of those were large retail stores in the lower malls of the North and South Towers of the World Trade Center. I had been hired to write some new manuals and specification documents and to tweak some technical documentation. It was my sixth month there, and it was to be the penultimate month the corporation would be headquartered in Miami-Dade County; it was moving to the mid-west with the usual lay-offs, transfers, resignations, and tears. My consulting gig was scheduled to end on the last day of September. The mood was already depressed and sullen.

I was in the office they had assigned to me, having coffee and reading emails. A little after 9:00 AM a CNN news bulletin arrived in my email inbox that said that a small airplane had crashed into the World Trade Center. I immediately logged on to CNN.com and saw the breaking news flash on the home page. Frankly, I didn’t suspect anything; I knew about the B-25 bomber that had crashed into the Empire State Building in the 1940s and I went along with what the initial reporting had to say. My mom called to tell me the video and pictures she was seeing on CNN so I started to follow the event closely. By 9:20, after the second plane struck, amid the frantic bulletins being put out by CNN, I realized what had happened. My phone calls became frantic. I called my wife, who had been organizing a huge event at her work, ad told her to go to the nearest television to see what was happening. I felt helpless and angry. We were under attack again, this time in a unprecedented fashion.

I was able to get to the already packed lunchroom on the ground floor where a large television set bolted to the wall was displaying horrifying images. Both buildings on fire, the smoke, and those poor people trapped on the upper floors. Some of the employees who were in store operations started calling the two stores in the North and South towers. We heard, through the grapevine the crowded lunchroom had become, that the employees were confused because they had been told to evacuate, then to stay, then to leave, again. Screams had been heard during those telephone calls. My mind can scarcely imagine what was behind those screams. With about fifty other people, I saw the first tower collapse. The sound of uncontrollable sobbing surrounded me. I was in a state of shocked disbelief. I didn't know what to feel and what to do. I went outside to clear my head and think while smoking a cigarette. My wife was not answering her cell phone. Around 10:15 I answered a call from my sister-in-law who was in the service at the time and living in Maryland. I'll never forget her words: "George, they're attacking the Pentagon! What the hell is going on?"

After 11:00 AM the company let most of the non-IT employees and contractors go home. My wife's project, a project she had worked her ass off to organize for months, had been cancelled. I went to pick up our then five-year old son who had been dismissed early from his kindergarten class. After my wife arrived home, a little after two that afternoon, she and I spent the next ten hours (and the days after that) watching the news coverage, seeing the carnage, and that terrible, terrible sight of smoke rising over those smoldering ruins. We saw the second airplane hitting the tower and the resultant orange and black fireball. We saw the footage of the people running away from the Towers, covered in gray dust, some in dust and blood, and of the people jumping to their deaths as the favorable option to burning alive. We saw the first tower collapse. We saw the second tower collapse. My wife gasped when she saw the replay of the towers collapsing; she had not seen it happen live. We saw the carnage at the Pentagon. We saw what remained of the heroes of Flight 93 in a field in Shanksville, Pennsylvania. But the ruins, those awful ruins of what had been there hours and days before, those I think, will be the signal images of that day for me. We cried, together. We were witnesses to a seminal moment in history.

Since that day I've listened to countless stories from friends, acquaintances and colleagues who were there, in New York City, near Ground Zero. The story that affected me most was told to me by one of my best friends. Because of a fortuitous desire to have a real breakfast, he, along with his partner, were running late for a 9:00 AM meeting with the Port Authority of New York & New Jersey, then headquartered in the World Trade Center.

"George," he recounted, "that day remains so clear in my mind's eye I can relive it almost at will. It was like being in an episode of the Twilight Zone. Around 9:30 that night we were walking down Lexington Avenue towards 49th Street, trying to find a place to have a bite, and we were the only people on the street. Imagine that! Midtown Manhattan and we were alone, everything was closed. I saw people sleeping in hotel lobbies who had not been able to go home. Eerie doesn't come close to describing it." He went on to tell me, with emotion in his voice, that the folks they were meeting that day became like family, concerned as he was with whether they had survived or not. Ironically, the only one scheduled to meet with them that did not survive that day was John O’Neill, ex-FBI and the new head of security for the Port Authority.

I visited and marveled at these structures, I went to the observation deck to view New York City in all its glory. I ate at Windows on the World. I shopped in the malls under the buildings and then caught the train back to mid-town. Every time I see a movie where the Twin Towers are featured in a long shot I seethe. The New York skyline is incomplete. The Twin Towers of the World Trade Center in lower Manhattan weren't just buildings, they were symbols of American ingenuity, of our know-how, of our indomitable can-do attitude, of our unapologetic capitalism. Those two great American symbols died on September 11. Only the future will tell us what else we lost on that day.

The flawed and biased 9/11 Commission Report stated that our government exhibited a "failure of the imagination" in not seeing the warning signs that had been pointing inexorably to the attacks of 9/11. I agree. But, the American people are guilty as well. Most of us tend to live our lives in such a way that we want -- no we demand! -- bad news to go away. We want to live in a bubble, living our lives in hopeful optimism, being happy, having fun. Please, don't bother us with all that negative stuff, okay? We just want to be left alone to follow our bliss. But the last time we could afford to feel that was on September 10, 2001. Especially in today's world, with an administration that has coddled and supported the worst regimes in the world.

On September 11, 2001 we came face to face with an implacable, ruthless, and merciless enemy that has sworn itself to our destruction and the destruction of Western Civilization. It has been working at it for almost 14 centuries. It doesn't matter what country that threat comes from: whether Iran, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Libya, Egypt, or whether it's Al-Qaeda, Hezbollah, Hamas, PLO, or whether it comes from US citizens, within our own borders, radicalized by mosques we dutifully ignore so as not to offend. It doesn't matter what flavor it is, whether Sunni, Shia, Salafist, Wahhabi, secular Baathist. It doesn't matter. What matters is that we cannot ignore the danger that we, our children, and our children’s children, face as we hurtle into the second decade of twenty-first century.

Abe Greenwald in Commentary Magazine: "What We Got Right in the War on Terror."

[...] The arguments that we have prosecuted the war on terror immorally and ineffectually are important, and deserve the respectful hearing they have received, even if many of those arguing these points have resorted to launching the most abject slanders and accusations toward those who believe the war on terror is just and has been fought honorably. To be sure, not everything the United States has done in the war on terror has been correct. Far from it. As Winston Churchill said, “War is mainly a catalogue of blunders.” In the fight against Islamist terrorism, American blunders have come in all shapes and sizes, and in truth there are few small wartime miscalculations. This is especially so in an age of instant global headlines.

We continue to suffer for our biggest mistakes. Concerning the failure to catch Bin Laden and make serious efforts to nation-build early in the Afghanistan war, inaccurate intelligence about Saddam Hussein’s weapons, and the Pentagon’s ill-preparedness for the Iraqi insurgency, there can be no absolution. These errors have cost the country tragic sums in money, credibility, and life. They also set our efforts back precious years.

But these blunders, great as they are, have not undone America’s outstanding accomplishments. Ten years ago, the most delusional optimist among us would not have predicted the irrelevancy of Osama bin Laden or a decade without another al-Qaeda attack, let alone a democratic Iraq and a transformative explosion of antiauthoritarianism in the Middle East.

Nor do American achievements in this war mean we are in a position to quit the fight. The notion that America achieved closure with Bin Laden’s killing suggests to some, perhaps even the occupant of the White House, that the war on terror has had its decade and the United States can now move on. “America, it is time to focus on nation-building here at home,” said Barack Obama this summer as he announced a sizable drawdown of troops in Afghanistan for the fall of 2012. The suggestion that our work is done has traction only because resolute American action at home and abroad have provided a sense of security so pervasive it now goes unquestioned.

The United States has fallen prey to false comfort in the past. So before we submit to the siren song of closure, we would do well to recall that that is exactly where this war began—and our retaining some genuine measure of security has been the result of thinking and acting more boldly than we have in generations. [...]

Ros-Lehtinen Disappointed at Egyptian Interim Government’s Recognition of Muslim Brotherhood Political Party

(WASHINGTON) – U.S. Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen (R-FL), Chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, released the following statement on the announcement that the “Freedom and Justice Party,” established by the Muslim Brotherhood, has been officially recognized by Egypt’s interim government:

“Given its radical and violent ideology, it is deeply disturbing that the Muslim Brotherhood would be recognized in any way as a legitimate political entity.

“The Muslim Brotherhood is committed to violence and extremism. Neither freedom nor justice will be advanced by any political party established by the Muslim Brotherhood.

“United States policy must reflect this reality, and the Administration must not engage the Muslim Brotherhood, or allow direct or indirect U.S. assistance to benefit that organization.”

Oddly (feh) Soros-backed ThingProgress believes the Congresswoman is an "alarmist" ...

Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, chairwoman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, reacted quickly to the Egyptian government’s recognition of the Muslim Brotherhood’s political party.

In an alarmist statement, she denounced the recognition and called for the U.S. to isolate the Brotherhood ... This is essentially a call to exclude some 15 percent of Egypt’s population who said, according to a recent Gallup poll, they support the organization. [...]

Gee, I wonder what percentage of Germans supported Hitler and the Nazis back in the day? Perhaps ThinkProgress, and those others who feel very comfortable with their collective heads buried to their necks with sand, should get on the Muslim Brotherhood's emailing list ...

Just a couple days prior to the Congresswoman's "alarmist" statement NRO's Andrew C. McCarthy pointed out this not-so unexpected revelation from Egypt's MB:

In the Egyptian press, a top Muslim Brotherhood official, Sobhi Saleh, explains that if the Brothers come to <span id="itxthook0w0" style="BACKGROUND: none transparent scroll repeat 0% 0%; COLOR: darkgreen; font-color: inherit"target="_blank">power they will apply Islamic sharia law. Given that applying sharia law is the Brotherhood’s primary objective wherever it operates, this should be no surprise — unless you live in a cocoon where government officials and expert commentators barrage you with assurances that the Brothers are secular moderates.

Speaking of secular moderates, Mr. Saleh elaborated that terms like “secular state” and “civil state” must be rejected because “Islamic sharia is the best system for Muslims and non-Muslims.” For non-Muslims? Yes, of course … which is no doubt why Mr. Saleh also apologized for his earlier statements that Muslims must not marry non-Muslims and that liberals (and communists) could not be recognized as Muslims. (He felt compelled to apologize although the, er, misunderstanding was really the fault of “the media,” which “incorrectly paraphrased my statements.”)

So, who are YOU going to believe? Somebody that recognizes a gathering storm, or somebody that intentionally hides the poisonous weeds among the spring blooms?

Side-note: Since Mubarak's exit in Egypt <a href="http://search.aol.com/aol/search?query=egypt+christian+cops+killed+churches+destroyed&s_it=keyword_rollover"target="_blank">the killing of Christians and the destruction of their Churches seems to have increased, yet, slipped under the MSM's radar. Clearly it is a <a href="http://blogs.telegraph.co.uk/news/michaelweiss/100087770/the-muslim-brotherhoods-salafi-pact-puts-egyptian-christians-in-great-danger/"target="_blank">Kristallnacht taking place in Egypt ahead of outlawing anything not Islamic. I repeat, <a href="http://www.jpost.com/MiddleEast/Article.aspx?id=224348&R=R3"target="_blank">what was the percentage of Germans that supported the Nazis?

There is no doubt Israel is the strongest, if not the only, one true democracy in the Middle East. All the alleged democracies in the region have had their respective governments toppled, or are in the process of having them ousted. Let's not fool ourselves. The shouts of "democracy" and "freedom" are a farce, as <a href="http://www.memritv.org/clip_transcript/en/2947.htm"target="_blank">the Muslim Brotherhood and radical fundamentalist Islamists wait on the formalities of elections in these Muslim/Arab countries. And where Israel is not surrounded by one of these countries that hate them, they are bordered by the Mediterranean Sea ... where these countries want to drown them into extinction as a people, a religion, and a nation.

Obama believed he was coming up with yet another original bright solution that would solve all problems before him. <a href="http://articles.cnn.com/2011-05-19/politics/obama.israel.palestinians_1_israel-palestinian-conflict-borders-settlements?_s=PM:POLITICS"target="_blank">Return Israel to the pre-1967 borders. In all reality this is the lamb surrounded by the wolf and defenseless. In all reality it is a final solution for the Jewish Israelis. In all reality it is tossing Israel under the proverbial bus.

Furthermore, Obama had, prior to making his statement, <a href="http://thecable.foreignpolicy.com/posts/2011/05/19/obama_alters_us_policy_tells_israel_to_start_with_67_borders"target="_blank">assured Israel's PM Netanyahu there would be no surprises ... "Taqiyya".

How dare, Netanyahu!

In the aftermath, the MSM and others are appalled by Israel's PM Netanyahu firmly opposing Obama's plan for a pre-1967 Israel while visiting the Oval Office. The Israeli PM was "Really, really rude!"

In all reality, these are people who are now <a href="http://weaselzippers.us/2011/04/20/nbcs-andrea-mitchell-i-get-my-news-from-al-jazeera/"target="_blank">getting their news from Al-Jazeera ... In all reality these same people would be applauding anyone who had done the same dressing-down to, say, Pres. George W. Bush. They took great satisfaction in Venezuela's <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dkOXjcTB2oM"target="_blank">Hugo Chavez "El Diablo" rant and Iran's Mahmoud Ahmadinejad ripping into Pres. Bush and the United States from the floor of the United Nations. But no! Nobody should ever address their Obama in that manner ... ever. And especially NOT in the Oval Office. Even if the occupant had just expressed a desire for that leader's nation to bow down and become defenseless against their deadly enemies.

Sunday, Obama was at the AIPAC (American Israel Public Affairs Committee) gathering. There was much anticipation as to how the crowd would receive him, and were <a href="http://www.politico.com/blogs/bensmith/0511/AIPAC_Dont_boo_Obama.html?showall"target="_blank">warned against any outward displays of opposition (See: booing) to Obama for his statements.

In the fallout of his anti-Israel statement, and Netanyahu's firm scolding in the Oval Office, Obama made people believe he was <a href="http://www.theblaze.com/stories/white-house-tries-to-clarify-1967-border-remarks-only-a-starting-point/"target="_blank">clarifying his previous statement, but actually doubled-down on his previous statement, and <a href="http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2011/05/22/ears-obama-israel-lobby-conference/"target="_blank">claimed he was being "misrepresented" in them:

<a href="http://twitter.com/JRubinBlogger"target="_blank">WaPo blogger Jennifer Rubin tweeting from the AIPAC speech is unimpressed:

not a long speech-says he gave it on thurs — stone silence. . . Bibi”s name gets applause..

even disagree as friends disagree US bond to isr unshakable . . . he takes NOTHING back. . . #AIPAC2011

O:core issues only be negot by parties. . . says Hamas is really a barrier to peace. . . so? so? call to release Gilad Shalit. . . what is he doing?

“broad outlines have been known for many years” — this is bunk — the crowd is silent #AIPAC2011

silent for large periods. . . ive never seen such unenthusiasm for dem pres by largely jewish audience #AIPAC2011

And then there are those of the Jewish faith in this country that supported Obama in his POTUS bid ... but are now horrified by his proposal for Israel.

Gene Simmons of KISS sums it up best:

<a href="http://www.newsmax.com/InsideCover/EdKoch-Jewishvote-BarackObama/2011/05/20/id/397141"target="_blank">Democratic senior statesman Ed Koch is contemplating jumping political parties.

<a href="http://www.newsmax.com/video/viewid/b4c4d2e4-7cd3-44dc-869d-64c4371f7431"target="_blank">Alan Dershowitz warns Obama has torpedoed the peace process in the Middle East.

But then there will always be the diehard Obama sycophants<a href="http://bigjournalism.com/abreitbart/2011/05/20/media-matters-honcho-attacks-israel-aipac-calls-netanyahu-terrorist/"target="_blank">here in our <a href="http://www.newsbusters.org/blogs/noel-sheppard/2011/05/22/fareed-zakaria-obamas-middle-east-speech-fair-and-balanced"target="_blank">MSM, and <a href="http://www.jpost.com/DiplomacyAndPolitics/Article.aspx?ID=221724&R=R1&utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter"target="_blank">even in Israel that worship their leftist/liberal ideology to the point of insanity.

But what takes the cake is the complete distortion of REALITY some of the media in this country will go through to craft the public's perception of an issue:

<a href="http://pajamasmedia.com/tatler/2011/05/23/the-nyt-tarts-up-the-aipac-report-and-the-new-america-foundation-to-make-obama-look-better/"target="_blank">The NYT Tarts Up the AIPAC Report and the New America Foundation to Make Obama Look Better

In all reality, Obama's 1967 borders statement is <a href="http://pajamasmedia.com/tatler/2011/05/23/wapo-yes-obamas-reference-to-the-1967-lines-was-a-major-us-policy-shift/"target="_blank">a major policy shift for the United States where Israel is concerned. And <a href="http://www.mrctv.org/videos/mort-zuckerman-first-time-their-states-founding-israelis-feel-americans-arent-behind-them"target="_blank">New York Daily News owner Mort Zuckerman fears Israel now believes for the first time America no longer supports or defends Israel ... So do I.

<a href="http://www.ontheissues.org/2004/George_W__Bush_Foreign_Policy.htm"target="_blank">In a debate during the 2004 presidential election, John Kerry expressed how he would seek a permission from the United Nations and our 'allies' before having America defend herself from attack, to which Pres. Bush replied America does not need permission to defend herself. In the eyes of the world media, and the appeasing liberal/leftist Western World, Israel has always needed their permission to defend herself. And now Israel is expected to return to a position where they would not have <a href="http://www.israelnationalnews.com/News/Flash.aspx/211063"target="_blank">a high ground, and would be at the mercy of it's hate-filled, blood-thirsty enemies. Israel has a right to <a href="http://www.jpost.com/DiplomacyAndPolitics/Article.aspx?id=221739"target="_blank">exist and live.

In all reality <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RayrywlCMwA&feature=player_embedded"target="_blank">the wolf is the aggressor, and will always be on the prowl as long as it smells prey ... <a href="http://www.cnsnews.com/news/article/forget-about-us-recognizing-israel-hamas"target="_blank">no matter where "borders" are drawn.

And THAT is the reality of the Middle East situation ...

Somebody wake up Big Sis ... Throw a big bucket of ice water on her. Hit her with an iceberg ...

<a href="http://www.10news.com/news/27780427/detail.html"target="_blank">SAN DIEGO -- A terrorist organization whose home base is in the Middle East has established another home base across the border in Mexico.

"They are recognized by many experts as the 'A' team of Muslim terrorist organizations," a former U.S. intelligence agent told 10News.

The former agent, referring to Shi'a Muslim terrorist group Hezbollah, added, "They certainly have had successes in big-ticket bombings."

Some of the group's bombings include the U.S. embassy in Beirut and Israeli embassy in Argentina.

However, the group is now active much closer to San Diego.

"We are looking at 15 or 20 years that Hezbollah has been setting up shop in Mexico," the agent told 10News.

Since the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, U.S. policy has focused on al-Qaida and its offshoots.

"They are more shooters than thinkers … it's a lot of muscles, courage, desire but not a lot of training," the agent said, referring to al-Qaida.

Hezbollah, he said, is far more advanced.

"Their operators are far more skilled … they are the equals of Russians, Chinese or Cubans," he said. "I consider Hezbollah much more dangerous in that sense because of strategic thinking; they think more long-term."

Hezbolah has operated in South America for decades and then Central America, along with their sometime rival, sometime ally Hamas.

Now, the group is blending into Shi'a Muslim communities in Mexico, including Tijuana. Other pockets along the U.S.-Mexico border region remain largely unidentified as U.S. intelligence agencies are focused on the drug trade.

"They have had clandestine training in how to live in foreign hostile territories," the agent said.

The agent, who has spent years deep undercover in Mexico, said Hezbollah is partnering with drug organizations, but which ones is not clear at this time.

He told 10News the group receives cartel cash and protection in exchange for Hezbollah expertise.

"From money laundering to firearms training and explosives training," the agent said.

For example, he tracked, along with Mexican intelligence, two Hezbollah operatives in safe houses in Tijuana and Durango

"I confirmed the participation of cartel members as well as other Hezbollah individuals living and operating out of there," he said.

Tunnels the cartels have built that cross from Mexico into the U.S. have grown increasingly sophisticated. It is a learned skill, the agent said points to Hezbollah's involvement.

"Where are the knowledgeable tunnel builders? Certainly in the Middle East," he said.

Why have Americans not heard more about Hezbollah's activities happening so close to the border?

"If they really wanted to start blowing stuff up, they could do it," the agent said.

Yes, we are concentrating on the financial and employment disaster going on right now within this country. Rightly so that when the 2012 POTUS election cycle comes around the old question should be used by the GOP ticket: <a href="http://babalublog.com/2011/04/oh-thats-what-a-path-to-recovery-looks-like/"target="_blank">"Are you better-off now than you were four years ago?"

However, what's going on under the radar of the average American (voter) who doesn't keep a close eye on these things because the MSM doesn't cover them is equally alarming as the economy. The 2012 GOP ticket needs to use these insane practices of the Eric Holder Department of Justice against the Obama Administration. A second question must then be posed to the American people: <a href="http://search.aol.com/aol/search?query=eric+holder+doj+injustices&s_it=keyword_rollover"target="_blank">"Are you safer than you were four years ago?"

Rep. Peter King's (R-NY) recent hearings on radical Islam has <a href="http://pajamasmedia.com/blog/did-obama-and-holder-scuttle-terror-finance-prosecutions/"target="_blank">uncovered something quite outrageous ...

During the House Homeland Security hearing last month on the topic of radicalization in the American Muslim community, one exchange between L.A. County Sheriff Lee Baca and Rep. Chip Cravaack (R-MN) concerned the relationship between the L.A. County Sheriff’s Department and Hamas terrorist front the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR). Sheriff Baca told the congressman:

We don’t play around with criminals in my world. If CAIR is an organization that is a quote “criminal organization,” prosecute them. Hold them accountable and bring them to trial.

But according to a high-ranking source within the Department of Justice, who spoke exclusively to Pajamas Media on the condition of anonymity, Sheriff Baca, a long-time supporter of CAIR, was probably already in on the joke.

The joke is that a number of leaders of Islamic organizations (all of whom publicly opposed the King hearings on Muslim radicalization) were about to be indicted on terror finance support charges by the U.S. attorney’s office in Dallas, which had been investigating the case for most of the past decade.

But those indictments were scuttled last year at the direction of top-level political appointees within the Department of Justice (DOJ) — and possibly even the White House.

He was exercising his First Amendment Rights and killed nobody. As a matter of fact, it was HIS own private property, and unless he tries to make an insurance claim, I have no problem with him burning anything that is his private possession. I am not a fan of this guy, or the practice of defacing things of "value" of other people or faiths just to make a scene. But thankfully we are allowed to express ourselves in the most inconsiderate ways in this country. We are not responsible for <a href="http://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/world/asia-pacific/two-beheaded-20-dead-in-afghan-clash-after-us-preacher-burns-koran/article1966938/"target="_blank">the actions of others who do not understand, or <a href="http://news.xinhuanet.com/english2010/world/2011-04/02/c_13810848.htm"target="_blank">refuse to accept that fact.

"His act of hatred" ... ???

This is the paradox the liberal mind-set gets us into when they insist our Constitutional rights reach outside the citizens of the United States. They want it both ways. Those they seek to convey our rights to are allowed not to recognize the rights of actual Americans exercising said rights. We are expected to take personal responsibility for our actions, but they are not. The left has told us for about ten years that part of the world doesn't understand or want freedom and democracy. We shouldn't liberate them and push them in that direction. But those same intellectual-types insist we should bestow the privilege of everything outlined in our Constitution to them.

Now then ... What do you think Christians, and/or Sarah Palin's family/friends/fans, should do about this? Would the MSM be so quickly convinced <a href="http://therandr.org/content/jesus-coming"target="_blank">the artist would be responsible for riots and killings of outrage over the artist's insult?

I'm certain the same ABC reporter wouldn't find this an "Act of hatred" ... But artistic expression.

Pastor Jones Koran burning was an act of political 'artistic' theater. Yes, he knew the anger it would bring. Are you telling me the artist of the Sarah Palin (and other Jesus Christ) painting(s) isn't aware of the anger, disgust and outrage his political theater would bring? What he is completely aware of is nobody comes to the defense of Christianity, <a href="http://dailycaller.com/2011/03/22/now-defends-palin-against-maher-attack-but-says-we-are-on-to-you-right-wingers/print/"target="_blank">or Palin, when he/they do such vile displays. Are we not responsible for our own "road rage" in life? Don't we all get pissed-off everyday, and just suck it up and move on?

While most husbands would reach a <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MGE3G5kfzps&feature=player_embedded"target="_blank">tipping point and <a href="http://dailycaller.com/2011/03/29/report-bill-maher-doubles-down-calls-sarah-palin-c-word/"target="_blank">strike out at such disgusting insults of his wife, Mrs. Palin's husband seems to understand the First Amendment rights in this country ... and more importantly understands the depths of the insane and idiotic beings that live among us in this world.

This was done in the streets of New York City a few years ago. There were many non-Muslim New Yorkers standing there, gritting their teeth and grumbling to hold back their outrage and hate ... but they did not strike back because THEY know and understand the rights we have established with our Constitution:

Would the ABC reporter call that an "Act of hate"? And would the MSM afford the non-Muslim crowd the same sympathy for anyone who decided to jump out of the observing crowd to kick the crap out of these guys?

WASHINGTON — Members of the NATO alliance have sternly warned the rebels in Libya not to attack civilians as they push against the government of Col. Muammar el-Qaddafi, according to senior military and government officials.

As NATO takes over control of airstrikes in Libya, and the Obama administration considers new steps to tip the balance of power there, the coalition has told the rebels that if they endanger civilians, they will not be shielded from possible bombardment by NATO planes and missiles, just as the government’s forces have been punished.

“We’ve been conveying a message to the rebels that we will be compelled to defend civilians, whether pro-Qaddafi or pro-opposition,” said a senior Obama administration official. “We are working very hard behind the scenes with the rebels so we don’t confront a situation where we face a decision to strike the rebels to defend civilians.”

The warnings, and intense consultations within the NATO-led coalition over its rules for attacking anyone who endangers innocent civilians, come at a time when the civil war in Libya is becoming ever more chaotic, and the battle lines ever less distinct. They raise a fundamental question that the military is now grappling with: who in Libya is a civilian?

But Hillary believes it's STILL <a href="http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2011/mar/29/arms-libya-rebels"target="_blank">a great idea to arm these <a href="http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20110329/pl_nm/us_libya_usa_intelligence"target="_blank">[undefined] rebels with weapons. <a href="http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052748703712504576234112952203504.html?mod=WSJ_hp_LEFTTopStories"target="_blank">NATO not-so-much.

No matter, <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WitNGerEUsU&feature=player_embedded"target="_blank">the idiotic MSM finds this whole kinetic Libya thing a perfect "unclench the fist" opportunity:

Transcript of the full Matt Lauer interview with Michelle Bachmann <a href="http://newsbusters.org/blogs/geoffrey-dickens/2011/03/30/lauer-shocks-bachmann-should-we-show-compassion-al-qaeda-libya"target="_blank">here. Some are painting the Bachmann response as somehow mishandled. I pretty much read her mind as gasping, "WTF?!? Did you just hear yourself? Are you seriously asking this question?" It was Lauer's very cheap attempt to trip-up the woman, but he's the one who had to walk back his words.

This is what happens when the people who base their ideology and policy on feelings and moral equivalency, instead of a hard-nosed reality of right and wrong, run a war. When I think back on the Bush Administration being slammed and thrashed by the Congress, Obama and Clinton members at the time and joining in the kicking, about how the Bush Administration was outside of and in violation of the Congress on the Iraq War ... and then to see <a href="http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0311/52264.html"target="_blank">how Obama and Clinton are railroading this Libyan civil war interloping around Congress ... Sociopathic comes to mind.

Lovely couple, don'tcha think? I'm so glad we jumped right in there to support these freedom-loving rebels ... Funny thing is, I'll bet Qadaffi is a Che fan too. It's sorta like that question people ask in war, "Who's side is God on?" Because I just don't know how much closer to being like Cuba [...]

Lovely couple, don'tcha think? I'm so glad we jumped right in there to support these freedom-loving rebels ... Funny thing is, I'll bet <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arab_socialist#List_of_Arab_socialists"target="_blank">Qadaffi is a Che fan too. It's sorta like that question people ask in war, "Who's side is God on?" Because I just don't know how much closer to being like Cuba Libya could get than they already are ... except to start speaking Spanish.

JUBILANT rebel forces marching rapidly westward toward Tripoli set their sights on Muammar Gaddafi's hometown stronghold of Sirte as a series of explosions rattled the capital, drawing anti-aircraft fire.

Witnesses said the Tripoli airstrikes targeted the road to the international airport 10 kilometers outside the city, as well as a neighborhood on its eastern outskirts, AFP reported.

Two explosions rocked Sirte last night as planes flew overhead but journalists were unable to immediately pinpoint their source.

In other military action, French warplanes carried out strikes on Libyan armored vehicles and a "major munitions depot" in the western Misrata and Zintan regions, French military headquarters said.

Following their military successes, made possible by a week of coalition airstrikes, a confident rebel leadership in Benghazi said they planned to resume oil exports "in less than a week."

Sec. Gates: "No, no ... It was not -- it was not a vital national interest to the United States, but it was an interest and it was an interest for all of the reasons Secretary Clinton talked about. The engagement of the Arabs, the engagement of the Europeans, the general humanitarian question that was at stake."

Woo-hoo, folks! Get ready! Maybe Cuba's on Obama's/Clinton's "To Do" list, eh?

Meanwhile, Joe Lieberman thinks we should just get on over to Syria next ...

And reports are <a href="http://www.debka.com/article/20803/"target="_blank">The Muslim Brotherhood is behind the Syria uprising (as they were <a href="http://babalublog.com/2011/03/oh-brotherhood/"target="_blank">in Egypt) ... in addition to having <a href="http://edition.cnn.com/2011/WORLD/africa/03/25/libya.islamists/index.html?hpt=T2"target="_blank">an eye on Libya.

Can we STOP pretending this is anything <a href="http://babalublog.com/2011/03/the-false-democracy-in-the-falling-arab-nation-dominos/"target="_blank">remotely resembling a revolution for pure democracy and freedom, and not just swapping alligators for crocodiles? No thanks, I'll <a href="http://www.chandlerswatch.com/2011/03/25/under-attack-again-israel-is-ready-to-react-with-great-force-and-to-deploy-iron-dome/"target="_blank">trust Israel before I trust anything coming out of this administration, State Department, or Congress.

My head hurts ...
