Self-styled Cuba "experts" like Gwynne Dyer like to think that tourist dollars, particularly those from the U.S., are the key to liberating Cubans from their communist oppressors. Well here's the example from the emerald isle that the "ugly Americans" have to live up to:

This was a Cuban resort before Ike. As you can see the hordes of foreign invaders are teaching ordinary Cubans about capitalism and democracy. One can only hope that the regime has its slave laborers cleaning up the mess the hurricanes left behind so that the lessons can continue.

The strategy here is to bring human rights to the imprisoned island through talent shows at tourist resorts.
