"You deserve better, my friends, and we expect better..."

I have been listening to and reading about Daniel Hannan for a few years now. I imagine our Founding Fathers had more than a bit of the Brit left in their accents and proper English as they discussed and debated the basic founding of our republic post-Revolution. I find it striking that some of the loudest pro-American patriot voices have foreign accents, especially English accents. How ironic is it that the country we fought for our independence from over 235 years ago, and who fought back at us to keep us entangled with them, are now urging us to hold onto our republic and independence centuries later? Conservative people, such as Hannan and Mark Steyn, speak the strongest about this nation's best qualities, and warn us against following the rest of the socialist world off the cliff.

Love this guy.

Great Britain's Daniel Hannan at CPAC 2012:

Here is a bit of Mark Steyn's latest column, "The Church of Obama", regarding the "women's health" mandate that sparked last weeks major rift with the Catholic Church, and other religious sects, and the Obama administration, but I recommend reading it in full so as not to miss Steyn's sarcasm and dry humor therein...

The bigger the Big Government, the smaller everything else: First, other pillars of civil society are crowded out of the public space; then, the individual gets crowded out, even in his most private, tooth-level space. President Obama, Commissar Sebelius, and many others believe in one-size-fits-all national government — uniformity, conformity, supremacy from Maine to Hawaii, for all but favored cronies. It is a doomed experiment — and on the morning after it will take a lot more than a morning-after pill to make it all go away.

And a reminder from Pasha as he intimidates the good Dr. Yuri Zhivago with the stark reality they now live under. Yep, we are that red locomotive in Hannan's rearview mirror.

Frankly, the alliance of the communist left and radical Islam gives me nightmares. I first became aware of this frightening trend years ago when my husband and I noticed a definite anti-Israel bias in LA Times articles on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Always, always, these biased articles were penned by liberals, supposedly the tolerant, peace loving defenders of human rights. What do jihadists and the left have in common? Hatred of Judeo-Christian civilization, and an agenda for power, their prime targets being the United States and Israel, who stand as twin pillars of freedom and democracy, entrusted as protectors of mankind's inalienable rights, granted only by God.

Remember, just months before the terrorist attacks of 9-11, in May 2001, Fidel Castro told a cheering crowd of Muslim students at the University of Tehran, "Together we will bring America to its knees," he wasn't joking. The war following the attacks provided a perfect opportunity for this enemy to go on the offense. With ally Obama in the White House, their operations became overt, the so-called Arab Spring, and the rise of Muslim Brotherhood their first victory. Who carries the saber for these destructive radicals bent on war and destruction? The left dominated and Soros funded MSM, thats who. CNN, long dubbed the Castro News Network, can now also be called the Crescent News Network.

From Jean-Patrick Grumberg for www.Dreuz.info, via Atlas Shrugged:

Breaking News: CNN Israel fired all Jewish Journalists

The media scandal that you are about to read was revealed to us by a totally reliable source.

It is likely to provoke a wave of shock and indignation within the North American media industry, and it certainly will not calm down the controversy over the pro-palestinian CNN treatment of the conflict.

We learned today that the Israeli branch of CNN, located in Jerusalem, is downsizing to cope with reduced income from less advertising.

What goes beyond good management is that CNN has fired four Israeli Jewish journalists (out of a crew of 8), and has retained only Arab journalists. Where, until now, CNN always sent a Jewish and an Arab journalist to cover information, now there will be only an Arab journalist. The local chief editor of the News Chanel is now Arabic.

This is a conflict where information is central to public opinion, and it weighs a lot on diplomatic decisions. Furthermore, it is no secret that Arab journalists cannot freely publish what they want without risking for their own lives when traveling to Gaza, East Jerusalem, and Judea Samaria. Thus, CNN decision to fire all Jewish journalists from its Jerusalem office is of particular concern, because the general public is unaware that they will be receiving biased information.

Update at 8:30 PST: we just received the names of the four journalists that were fired:

Moshe Cohen, editor, fired on january 30, 10 years with CNN.

Izi Landberg, Producer, about 25 years with CNN, fired on January 30.

Avi Kaner cameraman fired on january 30, 10 years with CNN.

Michal Zippori desk producer, situation still unclear.

The left and democrats always claim to be the party of total inclusion and "a natural home for minorities", while, allegedly, the republicans have a very segregated tent. And when a conservative minority individual points out how it is not so natural, but a process of conditioning and even "brainwashing", they are also attacked. Yet, the liberal/left concept of "race" identity seems to end when an individual does not have the hive mind set. Now conservative Republican Sen. Marco Rubio is being told by a Latino group to choose between his heritage and his political views...

(SF Gate) — Florida Sen. Marco Rubio is at the top of every pundit’s short list to be the Republican vice presidential nominee, in the belief that having a Latino in the second spot on the ticket will attract Latino voters who have been fleeing the GOP in recent years.

But today at the Hispanic Leadership Network conference in Miami, the Berkeley organization Presente Action is launching a national anti-Rubio campaign during his big moment in the national spotlight, days before Tuesday’s critical Florida primary.

Their assertion, backed by recent surveys, is that Rubio’s positions on several key issues, immigration in particular, are far from the mainstream of the Latino electorate.

So Presente, a 3-year-old, 250,000-member online hub that aims to be “the Latino MoveOn.org” is aiming its campaign at the senator who is a Tea Party darling. The campaign’s name: “No somos Rubios.” (“We are not Rubios.”)

“Rubio has to decide,” said Presente Action co-founder and strategist Roberto Lovato, “if he’s a Latino or a Tea Partino.”

Obama has invested a lot of stimulus (taxpayer) money (and political interests) into the unproven and failed technology of "green energy". As the media tried its best to not make stories such as Solyndra important, the money-pit still pops up in the news. But to add insult to injury (on the American people), the company has been caught destroying perfectly good parts and dumping them...

Just the other day Obama rejected the no-government-stimulus-needed "shovel ready" Keystone XL oil pipeline project from our friend and ally Canada that would have produced tens of thousands of direct and indirect jobs, not to mention influence the prices in the oil market just on speculation alone. House Speaker John Boehner responded:

"President Obama expedited approval of the Solyndra loan project, but won't approve a project that's been under review for over three years ... President Obama is destroying tens of thousands of American jobs and shipping American energy security to the Chinese..."

Canada is not very happy about it either, and some very interesting points are made in this video. Prime Minister Stephen Harper is looking for greener pastures (as in market/money) in China.

But Obama and the democrats are no where near finished yet:

Wth the Iran situation and people now contemplating $5/gal gas prices at the pump this summer, six House democrats want an unelected "Reasonable Profits Board" to control gas profits...

The Democrats, worried about higher gas prices, want to set up a board that would apply a "windfall profit tax" as high as 100 percent on the sale of oil and gas, according to their legislation. The bill provides no specific guidance for how the board would determine what constitutes a reasonable profit.

The Gas Price Spike Act, H.R. 3784, would apply a windfall tax on the sale of oil and gas that ranges from 50 percent to 100 percent on all surplus earnings exceeding "a reasonable profit." It would set up a Reasonable Profits Board made up of three presidential nominees that will serve three-year terms. Unlike other bills setting up advisory boards, the Reasonable Profits Board would not be made up of any nominees from Congress.

The bill would also seem to exclude industry representatives from the board, as it says members "shall have no financial interests in any of the businesses for which reasonable profits are determined by the Board."

According to the bill, a windfall tax of 50 percent would be applied when the sale of oil or gas leads to a profit of between 100 percent and 102 percent of a reasonable profit. The windfall tax would jump to 75 percent when the profit is between 102 and 105 percent of a reasonable profit, and above that, the windfall tax would be 100 percent. The bill also specifies that the oil-and-gas companies, as the seller, would have to pay this tax.

What could go wrong?

Remember what Rep. Maxine Waters (D) said about America's oil companies just a couple years ago? So much for that family vacation to Disney World. Well, at least Obama enjoyed himself there yesterday. THAT's what is really important, ya know.

And then there is the unelected Obama EPA...

New EPA regulations will force 32 coal plants to close their doors putting hundreds of Americans out of work.

The latest move by the EPA will force new regulations on 26 states. The new rules will kill thousands of jobs, cost billions of dollars and increase electricity rates for every family.

New EPA rules will force Western coal-fired power plants to install haze-reducing pollution-control equipment at a cost of $1.6 billion a year. Pictured is the Dave Johnston Power Plant in Glenrock, Wyoming. (IBD)

[...]

The Obama Administration’s new energy regulations will shut down about 8% of all U.S. generating capacity or the equivalent of wiping out all power generation for Florida and Mississippi.

America needs a high colonic in November to remove the blockage ...

UPDATE:

Obama doubles down on green energy loans, again

While the DOJ's top gun AG Eric Holder vehemently opposes voter IDs as racist, I don't see him jumping on the state of Illinois for their new state law requiring customers to show photo identification before purchasing ... drain cleaner. I'm guessing minorities don't buy Liquid Plumber??

Look for the union label on the majority of those waivers for ObamaCare from the administration and the HHS.

There's a new tell-all book coming out that makes the Czarina of Food, FLOTUS Michelle Obama, look kinda sorta not so nice. Also, allegedly, after the 2008 election win, she wanted to postpone the move to the White House and hang out at the Obama home pal Tony Rezko helped purchase. However, in the last three years she hasn't seemed to make the Chicago digs a vacation destination. I think I recall maybe one time the Obama's have been back there?

Your Excellency: And speaking of the jet-setting FLOTUS ... Given her proclivity for taking luxurious holidays on our dime while the rest of the nation is struggling with the household budget, and going without family vacations for another year in a row, a depiction of her as the spoiled selfish Queen of France who mythically stated "Let them eat cake" really doesn't seem all that nasty, as political cartoons go (and the buff arm has to be a jab at the MSM's obsession with Mrs. Obama's 'toned' and typically bare arms)...

The photoshop is not new (and I have seen others, of Obama as well), but an LA Times blogger has taken exception, and somehow sees something the majority of people looking at the depiction do not ... racism. However, the LAT blogger apparently had no problems with his own paper's political cartoonist taking an obviously blatant racist stab at then Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice. Not to worry, however, I believe Mrs. Obama will be able to jet back to that pricey house in Chicago around this time next year ... for good.

And an interesting extra ... Ace of Spades HQ has a round-up you might find entertaining: Lefties Wet Their Pants Thinking about Post-Obama America
or, I Want What They Fear

Me too...

In all reality, odds are he's looking at his last year in office. God knows he and his wife are spending our money like it is. A year from now his wife will be looking around the White House to see what she can tuck inside her suitcase as MSM allowed historic souvenirs. But forget the ugly designer clothes, the WH china and artwork. In the course of this next year Obama will be looking at how many fundamental rights he can take from us on his way out.

Top on his list seems to be our Second Amendment right to own guns. If you had any doubts the ATF's/DOJ's primary goal in the gun walking "Fast and Furious" was to promote tougher gun controls over law abiding American citizens, those doubts should be fading very soon...

In the recently passed Omnibus spending bill Congress strictly warned Obama he wasn't to use any of that money to advocate or promote gun control. Now, as is his bad habit, it appears he is going to bypass the Constitutional checks and balances by doing an end-run around Congress to do what he damn well pleases.

Struggling for ideas for <a href="http://www.newser.com/story/134863/why-gun-sales-are-at-record-high.html"target="_blank">that perfect gift this Christmas? This past <a href="http://bottomline.msnbc.msn.com/_news/2011/12/05/9227335-ready-aim-buy-why-gun-sales-spiked-on-black-friday"target="_blank">"Black Friday" gun sales broke the previous sales record by 1/3. (Read the comments at the link and weigh the tone ... and at an MSNBC link, of all places!) <a href="http://pjmedia.com/instapundit/133125/"target="_blank">"We are the 47%". The last gun sales record was set in late summer-early fall of 2008. I remember that statistic, but I'm trying to recall the significance of 2008... I really cannot, for the life of me, understand <a href="http://babalublog.com/2011/12/holder-hey-those-illegal-guns-sold-to-mexican-drug-thugs-will-be-killing-for-a-long-time-to-come/"target="_blank">the reasoning behind 2008's gun sales surge, or even <a href="http://babalublog.com/2011/11/obamas-razor/"target="_blank">think of a reason why citizens would lawfully exercise our <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VoikNVzesGc"target="_blank">US Constitutional 2nd Amendment right to own guns ... can you?

The beginning of the week the U.S. Senate passed a bill, <a href="http://www.theblaze.com/stories/can-the-indefinite-detention-bill-send-americans-to-military-prison-without-trial/"target="_blank">National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) - Senate Bill 1867, saying the government can detain citizens indefinitely under suspicion of being terrorists. (Imagine if this same Bill had been even considered, let alone passed, under a republican administration or held Senate. Wait ... Why, the vote was a staggering 97-3!)

Republican Senators that did <a href="http://thehill.com/blogs/defcon-hill/policy-and-strategy/197519-sen-graham-committee-will-try-to-accommodate-fbi-concerns-on-detainee-provisions"target="_blank">vote for the bill assured there were no worries for American citizens. Yeah, because our <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ni4GVWvT2Zs"target="_blank">US Constitution's 4th Amendment has been protecting us so far against <a href="http://www.local10.com/news/Elderly-complain-about-pants-search-at-airport/-/1717324/4881644/-/ov0t3e/-/index.html"target="_blank">the DHS's outrageous searches at the airport with <a href="http://thehill.com/blogs/floor-action/house/198357-house-gop-looks-to-strip-tsa-screeners-of-officer-title"target="_blank">the TSA. I have yet to hear/see any reports where any terror attempt has been thwarted by these invasions on children, housewives, and our walkered-elderly. But maybe we can all just chill with <a href="http://thedailynews.cc/2011/12/03/montcalm-county-gets-homeland-security-snow-cone-machine/"target="_blank">a DHS snow cone, eh? April 2009 <a href="http://www.wnd.com/index.php?fa=PAGE.view&pageId=94803"target="_blank">a (then) newly unclassified Department of Homeland Security report outlined additions to the "terror watch list". The document's title: "Right-wing Extremism: Current Economic and Political Climate Fueling Resurgence in Radicalization and Recruitment". Included in this report, aside from the obvious according to the title, are our returning Iraq/Afghanistan veterans. Yet, we are not permitted to say or even think the identity of this nation's real terrorist enemies.

The MSM is trying to spin and sugar-coat the reasons behind this record-breaking surge in gun sales as it is now somehow cool and socially accepted trendiness to own them ... guns, that is, not <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZFY9gdmIwNw&feature=related"target="_blank">Min Pin Chis.

Yeah, right...

The American people aren't stupid and ignorant. The MSM is stupid and ignorant for believing that we are.

I think it pretty much tells you where the nation is right now ... and <a href="http://campaign2012.washingtonexaminer.com/blogs/beltway-confidential/christie-heckles-occupy-protesters-iowa/243566"target="_blank">Gov. Chris Christie has some thoughts on that as well, while confronting a recent OWS heckling (emphisis mine):

Here’s the way I feel about it: They represent an anger in our country that Barack Obama has caused,” he said, drawing cheers from the crowd. “He’s a typical cynical Chicago... politician who runs for office and promises everything and then comes to office and disappoints, and so their anger is rooted not in me or Mitt Romney, their anger is rooted in the fact that they believed in this hope and change garbage.

And they are <a href="http://babalublog.com/2011/12/send-in-the-commie-clown/"target="_blank">the ones that are eagerly awaiting the promised <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_cqN4NIEtOY"target="_blank">fundamental transformation they believe has not come about soon enough. Then there are those of us, <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VZWaxjiQyFk"target="_blank">we "bitter clingers", that fully understand all of this, and will not be bought-off with DHS snow cones <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WJ_yQ02xwsM"target="_blank">while standing in search queues.

Obama's Razor - <a href="http://babalublog.com/2011/11/obamas-razor/"target="_blank">In any given situation, the most cynical explanation is usually the correct one with this administration.
Come on. Stop trying to play us here. Just admit it, and LOUDLY, what this is ... what you are all about. The defeat of our republic, and replacing it with communism. Maybe if you busy bees shout it loud enough the MSM might accidentally report it in the background of trying to paint you as a noble movement/cause that has anything in common with the rest of peeved America, or the TEA Party movement.

I wonder if they will withhold food from those children too...

I've heard clips of Adam Carolla's radio talk show before, and he is always quite frank and colorful in his pull-no-punches opinionating on subjects. Generally he comes off as a mix of libertarian and conservative. Glenn Beck highlighted this bit of Adam Carolla on an anti-Occupy Wall Street rant, that is really very spot-on ... but be warned there is a graphic language splash zone involved.

It really is a beautiful thing...

ObamaCare is the gift that just keeps on taking. Anyhow, I hate to say "I told you so...", but I'm not the only one that said it.

[...] the New York Times reports that the controversial health care reform act has accelerated the destruction of small medical practices at the expense of large firms. And if the Times is right, these are part of some fundamental changesin the American health care system that no Supreme Court decision can undo:

From Colorado to Maryland, hospitals are scrambling to buy hospitals. Doctors are leaving small private practices. Large insurance companies are becoming more dominant as smaller ones disappear because they cannot stay competitive. States are simplifying decades of Medicaid rules and planning new ways for poor and rich alike to buy policies more easily. [...]

Other changes influenced by the legislation may leave some patients and doctors lost in the new land of giants. As medicine moves from a cottage industry to one dominated by large organizations, some patients with insurance will probably find their choices more limited. But their care may be better coordinated, as hospitals, doctors and even insurers join to streamline services.

“The system is transforming itself,” said Charles N. Kahn III, president of the Federation of American Hospitals. “But the success of these changes depends a lot on whether there is sufficient funding.”

Is this what the social engineers who redesigned the American health care system really wanted to do? Is big better in health care, and is bigger still better still?

If the Times is right, so far the principal effect of the plan has been to accelerate the decline of family doctors and small medical practices in favor of larger, bureaucratic health care providers along the lines of HMOs.

Meanwhile, on the heels of the SCOTUS announcing it will hear arguments regarding ObamaCare next spring, the Wall Street Journal points out...

Even if ObamaCare survives Supreme Court scrutiny next spring, its trials will be far from over. That's because the law has a major glitch that threatens its basic functioning. It's so problematic, in fact, that the Obama administration is now brazenly trying to rewrite the law without involving Congress.

The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act offers "premium assistance"—tax credits and subsidies—to households purchasing coverage through new health-insurance exchanges. This assistance was designed to hide a portion of the law's cost to individuals by reducing the premium hikes that individuals will face after ObamaCare goes into effect in 2014. (If consumers face the law's full cost, support for repeal will grow.)

The law encourages states to create health-insurance exchanges, but it permits Washington to create them if states decline. So far, only 17 states have passed legislation to create an exchange.

This is where the glitch comes in: ObamaCare authorizes premium assistance in state-run exchanges (Section 1311) but not federal ones (Section 1321). In other words, states that refuse to create an exchange can block much of ObamaCare's spending and practically force Congress to reopen the law for revisions.

My Kate just finished a month of grueling reading/studying/testing for three huge exams in medical school. She has no life, outside her medical school studies and classes. She called me just after 10:00 this morning, actually lazily giggling, because she had slept in (no classes today) ... She was gazing at her engagement ring (recently acquired) and said that part of her life seems as if it is somebody else's (planning a small wedding for June 2012 after her first set of boards ... she and her fiancé at a different medical schools hours away from each other). She told me she was going to spend the day cleaning her small apartment, prepping a mountain of laundry for a weekend trip home, playing with her fat cat, and running to the store for overdo supplies ... after relaxing at lunch at her favorite fast food eatery. Thank God for free LDs on our cell phones. She doesn't have the time or mental energy to worry about exactly what the medical world in this country will be when she graduates from medical school ... But I do, as I am sure many other parents who know how much their kids have invested in their long and hard years of study, work and sacrifice are worrying ...

As the last couple months have chugged along we (at least here in the north) have seen the weather transform from warm and pleasant to cold and annoying with the threat of the worst is yet to come. It will be a long and messy slog...

In these last couple months we have been witness to what can be loosely described as a live social test study, an experiment, in civilization under the merging ideologies of socialism/communism and anarchy. Once again, both have failed. Even in joining forces they still fail ... this time their own willing participants are the victims, some with their lives. I see people citing "Lord of The Flies" to describe the Occupy squatters' communities. But I think it goes deeper than that. These are not immature children. These are adults, most higher-educated in colleges, as we saw from the signs griping over student loan debt. The subjects in the William Golding story did not choose to throw-off the real world and build their own society. They were thrust into it, and seek to recreate what they left behind. The Occupy areas are filled with people who simply just don't like the real world they live in, so, they believe they have removed themselves from it and are building the utopia their liberal college professors and leftist philosophy authors designed and promised. However, what they are finding really is close to the end results of the Golding story.

The opposing dynamics of the two groups are obvious. The children in the fictional story discovered that simply acting like adults with laws and restrictions, without the real world experience of failure and success in order to make wise judgements to enable peaceful coexistence, was impossible ... It was no more than a dangerous game. The Occupiers are discovering that their united abstract ideals of anti-responsibility, anti-establishment, anti-structure, anti-accomplishment, and total childlike communal sharing eventually brings out the individual primal self-centered and self-serving messiness not tolerated in a structured society, even with all its imperfections. The stronger not only get their way, but get the rest to acquiesce and to believe it is best for the collective in order to keep the false peace. This too shall play out through a long and messy slog...

Right now the MSM is in a state of outrage over the systemic failure of a college coach/athletic department/college administration NOT taking action and properly reporting child rape inside their tight-knit 'community' ... But the same MSM, that has praised and promoted this "99% - Occupy" farce not only refuses to condemn the anti-social and completely lawless anarchy that this movement has morphed into, but blatantly refuses to report on it. What is in this video, this one woman speaking, and those women standing around 'up-twinkliing' their fingers in agreement, have dragged REAL 'feminism' back not decades, but perhaps, at the very least, a century...

Both Penn State University and the Occupy movement sought/seek to cover up and ignore the most base of cruel and degrading violations of other human beings in order to protect their own community's image and agenda. The individuals are expendable for the cause. And (not so) oddly, when the truth of the social debauchery is revealed it results in rioting.

I am beyond disgusted at the state this country is in right now. Both the Occupy and the PSU abominations CAN be directly traced back to the failures of our universities. And the MSM ... Well, they have their own community's image and agenda to protect, dontcha know.

Yeah, I said it. Anyhow, it will be a long and messy slog...

Here is an idea...

If the #OWS does not disband their squatters' encampment within a week, and clean up after themselves on their way out, then the private owner of the Zuccotti Park (who has connections to Obama and and "green energy loans") that has welcomed the interlopers and pressured the mayor and city officials NOT to remove the growing group early on, should be charged by the city for any loitering penalties that would be normally put upon each individual squatter, fines for having such an obvious violation for non-permit issuance for such an extended and consistent gathering, litter and noise fines, fines for the land being used as a residence when it is not zoned as such, and be forced to clean and renovate the park grounds to an original aesthetically acceptable state comparable to its appearance prior to the onslaught of human sloth and waste or be fined and charged for the city to make it so. Also, the individual businesses along the park should file a class action suit against the park owners for financial losses and any duress incurred over the last couple months of this obstruction on that part of New York City. But they won't...

"As an old friend of Trotsky’s might ask: What is to be done?"

To be sure, the protesters’ First Amendment rights should be respected — during the waking hours, and given the appropriate permits, they should be allowed to peaceably protest until Trotsky himself rises like Lazarus from the grave. But so too should the laws of the land, the rights of the property owners in Lower Manhattan, and the exigencies of reality be respected. To that end the city of New York should raze the tent city in Zuccotti Park and close the space each night, so that the area might be effectively cleaned and efficiently policed, and so that the occupied might get some sleep, too.

The more difficult question is how to accomplish this. It is plain that the occupiers are breaking the park’s posted rules, which explicitly prohibit “camping and/or the erection of tents or other structures” and loitering in a way that “interferes with the use of” the park by others. It is also clear that their continued presence is a magnet for grift and violence and a growing threat to public safety. Though the park’s owner, Brookfield Office Properties, is required, per the original development deal with the city, to keep Zuccotti open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, city zoning code does contain provisions whereby it can move to shut it down if that “closing is necessary for public safety.” If the political will existed, the eviction of the occupiers could thus be undertaken righteously. But the political class’s early decision to indulge the OWS set and the park’s ambiguous public/private status have Brookfield and Mayor Bloomberg deferring to each other. Bloomberg’s line has been that he can’t enforce the rules unless Brookfield asks him to. Brookfield’s line has been that they will follow the mayor’s lead.

And what of the residents and business owners around Zuccotti? Thus far, the members of Community Board 1, who nominally represent them, have been less than robust in addressing the situation: By a vote of 33–3 the board passed a flowery resolution in support of the squatters, and the greatest concession it has managed to secure in ongoing talks with the umpteen “working groups” at OWS is an informal agreement that the latter’s infamous percussionists would limit their drumming to a few hours each day. The obsequiousness has to this point continued up the line: Lower Manhattan’s city councilwoman, assemblyman, and state senator, along with borough president Scott Stringer, and even U.S. Rep. Jerry Nadler have for weeks presented a united front in hedging between representing the concerns of their constituents and flattering the gauzy generalities of a group of no-account out-of-towners.

However, you will note at the 4:17 mark the #ODC protesters are outraged ...OUTRAGED, I tell ya! ... that two, or so, protesters obstructing traffic in the city street were allegedly "run over" by a motorist (You'll understand my skepticism) ... and then OUTRAGED the DC police were not handcuffing the motorist and arresting him.

The Americans for Prosperity (AFP) “Defending the American Dream” conference in Washington DC last night undoubtedly had the proper documentation, permits and fees to hold their event lawfully.
And then there is this ... Yet, another reason for Home Schooling your kids.

An Added Bonus: An Uncut Tour of #OccupyWallStreet

And you'll be happy to know Iran thinks THIS massive protest is favorable, compared to the one just two years ago in their own streets...

Remember, Obama and the democrats are supporting this national bowel movement.
