Drillanwr, your appraisal of that harridan is accurate. I looked at the video and its horrible. Not that we ever thought Walters had any journalistic integrity. That flew out the window decades ago when she nearly had an orgasm on national TV as she interviewed fidel castro.

Among things that struck me were her arrogance. How dare she snidely ask, "why did you write the book?" Just because the subject matter doesn't appeal to her, doesn't mean others are not interested. I for one am fascinated and plan to read the memoir. And then her not-so-subtle remark about it happening so many years ago, thus calling into question Ms. Alford's memory. As if someone who was devirginized by the President of the United States could somehow not remember those details well.

What struck me is that the popular wisdom of the day always gives the victim the benefit of the doubt even if it happened a century ago! Case in point, nobody questioned Anita Hill's memory vis-a-vis Clarence Thomas and the "liberal" mainstream media never questions the memory of adults who claim that they were molested by Catholic priests decades early when they were children.

I guess the difference is that Clarence Thomas is a conservative and Catholic priests are members of an institution that opposes abortion and gay rights, and are thus seen as conservative.

Walters proves that these mainstream media types have no intellectual honesty or principles. As a "liberal" woman, she should side with a former teenage girl who was raped by an older man in power, but she doesn't. She travels around certain circles, understands the rules of the game and is thus willing to throw a sexually harassed/raped woman under the bus faster than you can bat an eye.

Indeed, that revolution was no more than the brainless trill and tantrum of a spoiled society that had no real problems and thought all it had was a given. We all know Batista may have robbed an election but he helped give Cuba considerable growth. Immigration, economy, infrastructure, it all grew during Batista to the point that it marked the height of a golden era. Simply put, Cuba was not only booming, it was the envy of the region. Thus, there was no need to create such national chaos and take such a gamble. Let's say it how it is, it was all no more than mere desire to bitch.

Maybe a trip around the rest of the Caribbean and Latin America would have helped the spoiled brats realize that new parking meters, prostitution (legal in all Latin America "except" Haiti and P.Rico), and casinos are not real problems in any damn place. I agree 100% with all you, Asombra and Rayarena, have said for it is true and I too make echo of it.

Yet, as I said before, we can't discard the significant and equally, if not more moronic, role USA played in Cuba's debacle.

Truth be told, Cuba wasn't the only political circus of Latin America, we simply payed the highest price for it primarily as a result of putting too much trust in USA. "USA won't permit a communist state 90 miles from Florida, I'll just wait it out on the mean time" we all know that one.

The fact that USA took these thugs, backed them, endorsed them, and propped them after throwing their ally Batista under the bus sent a very erroneous message to all those who trusted Uncle Sam more than they trusted Castro.

Batista shouted many times that they were communists all to receive mockery from most of the populace that opposed him; yet, USA had no reason to ignore such claim the way it did (assuming they really didn't know). More so, USA had no reason being there propping these shitheads, much less against an ally who always gave them nothing but warmth and favoritism.

Let's be clear here, USA was Cuba's old ally in its War of Independence, its main business partner, a super power just 90 miles away, and one who even had a military base on Cuban soil. If Batista made his bags it wasn't because of the University tantrums of spoiled brats nor because these improvised thugs defeated his military but because American pressure against him took its toll. As soon as the arms embargo of March 1958 was placed, the message was clear.

That said, I truly doubt suicidal megalomaniac, stink-bomb, and fag mouse would have run Cuba's government out had it not been for the pressure of USA and the scary two-face game it was playing. Furthermore, soon after the messiahs descended from Sierra Maestra and admitted to be communists, they wouldn't have survived either had it not been for the protection, yes protection, that USA has given them till this very day.

Of all the internal anti-communist revolts and counter attacks that soon followed USA didn't arm, finance, nor help a single one in any way. From the biggies of the Escambray Rebellion and the Bay of Pigs to the smaller ones hiding among daily life and just waiting for the right moment to strike, they were all left to fail against a Soviet backed regime who had its way paved by the CIA. The truth is that there are people in Florida serving time for attempting to smuggle guns into Cuba when it was them (USA) who in the '50s armed Castro, okay.

They do however, go into Panama to take out Noriega for trafficking cocaine, again, for trafficking cocaine. As if people can't find cocaine in less than a week in any American city.

I agree that there is plenty of embarrassment, filth, and unpardonable blame to go around internally in Cuba, and I mean plenty. Sadly however, such fools and filth reside everywhere, it's just a matter of unmasking them in their tracks and expose them for what they are. Don't we have here a leftist bluff of a president who went to an anti-American "church" for 20 years and is seen as a messiah? Our debacle wasn't just stupidity, it was stupidity mixed with foreign complicity. We can't be myopic and ignore the big picture and the full reality of things.

And JFK was not a "flawed man." He was a glorified scumbag, a deliberate deceiver, a man drunk on arrogance and ambition, a monster of selfishness who could screw over millions of Cubans to cover his incompetent ass just as easily as he could screw over an innocent, vulnerable girl to feed his ego and his lust.

If only this sort of disgusting shit weren't real. My take: Walters is a hypocritical careerist who knows how the game is played and shamelessly plays it for all it's worth. She's a classic example of someone who's gotten far more material success than was ever deserved, like all too many others. She's not about principles or integrity, let alone truth or objectivity. She's about Barbara Walters, period. I lost all respect for her many years ago, and all she's done since then has only deepened my contempt. But I'll say this for her: she does brazen, self-serving bias as well as anybody, and that's saying something, because the competition is fierce.

So, presumably, JFK kept confessing adultery to some priest or other, kept being absolved for it, and kept right on committing more adultery. And Jackie? Fine, thanks. Lots of clothes to buy and model for the cameras. And the press? Pushing and selling Mr. Wonderful, the perfect family man, to a public more than eager to buy photogenic lies. And Cuba and Cubans? Please, be serious. JFK may have cared about the cigars, but the people? Totally inconsequential. Let them eat tobacco leaves.

So where are those who hounded Herman Cain? Same place they were with Clinton’s “little problem.” Where are the righteous feminists? Same place they've been regarding Sarah Palin, not to mention regarding Muslim women. So many hypocrites, so many frauds.

joe,

I totally disagree with you, if John Q. Public was so smart Obama would not be POTUS today and his approval numbers today would be in the high 20s at best.

You must learn to be realistic to the fact that many Americans (like you and I) do not buy into the Kennedy myth but we are not the majority.

Unfortunately, the MSM (Barbara is part of it) worships the Kennedy family and that will never change regarding how much evidence against that family comes out.

Look how Ted Kennedy’s endorsement for Barack Obama back in 2008 worked out. If many Americans would not still worship the Kennedy family, Barry would not be POTUS today.

You cannot ignore the MSM ability to still influence and control the American people. The fact that Obama approval numbers are quite high for such a failed president bears testament to the MSM control on the American people.

You just need to watch the MSM news and their prime time programming and will get the message that a good portion of their programs in direct or indirect ways supports Barack Obama and the liberal Democrats agenda. This is prime example of how brainwashing of a population takes place.

"many Americans do not buy into the Kennedy myth, but you must admit that they are not the majority"
Why must I admit that? Just because Baba Wawa says that Americans love the Kennedys doesn't make it so. The media's love affair with the Kennedys is like their love affair with the Castros: it's not shared by John Q. Public & his wife. You see, John Q. Public is smarter than the media think he is. As a matter of fact, John Q Public is smarter than the media. The sooner you understand that, the better you'll sleep at night.
And, uh, "mainstream America is BS?"
What does that mean? I love America. I thank God for it every day. Don't you?
BTW, how old do you think I am? Co~o, I'm old, but not THAT old.

What does that mean? I love America. I thank God for it every day. Don't you?
BTW, how old do you think I am? Co~o, I'm old, but not THAT old.

joelima,

Please do not fool yourself (you are too old for that) and acknowledge the painful reality, mainstream America is BS.

I admit that many Americans do not buy into the Kennedy myth, but you must admit that they are not the majority; this is the sad and ugly truth. Trust me I do not like it as much as you do, but in these crazy times we are living, it is what it is.

You totally underestimate the MSM ability to still influence and brainwash the American people.

It is what it is, the sooner you understand it, the better…

I don't believe that "the majority of the American people still worship JFK" at all. The MSM, oh yeah, they absolutely do. But the average American, no. The idea that mainstream Americans believe in the "myth" of Camelot (to me it's more of a lie than a myth, but I guess I'm splitting hairs) is itself a myth.

"My granddaughter knows things I didn't hear about until adulthood."

Nailed it Ziva,

This young generation has so many problems in their lives (even more than our generation) because they have grown too quick for their own good.

Her statement, "For one thing, I’d always imagined that my first time would be with the man I loved on my wedding night.

That was the conventional view among girls my age in 1962 - and I was as conventional as anyone I knew."

I was 15 in 1962, and can attest to the fact that was the conventional view. In those days only a certain kind of girl acted otherwise, and they were not the ones young men brought home to meet the family. To me the degradation of our society is more horrific and shocking that what the known morally bankrupt former president did. My granddaughter knows things I didn't hear about until adulthood. And it happened in just a few years. Make love not war, free sex, and if you look at the photos of young people circa 1968, it's obvious who they were emulating. It wasn't the dead president.

Honey,

The majority of the American people continue to be love with the Kennedy and Camelot myth regardless of the overwhelming evidence that has surfaced over the years.

The worse part is that the majority of the American people still consider JFK a great president and both RFK and Ted as great senators.

Amazing that The View was willing to present this. Or is it that they want to make her look stupid? Whoopie is silent on this one.
Give this a few weeks and the msm will reveal things to ruin this gal's reputation. That is my expectation.
Or give it a few weeks and everyone will forget about this entirely because it isn't Bush or someone important who is being described. So who cares?
