What a way to start …

..the year. I’ve been off from work since the 23rd and I get in my truck this morning, turn it on, warm it up and take off. About 3 blocks from my house it just dies. Won’t start. Not even push starting works. It’s dead.

It’s now 10:30 a.m. and I just made it to the office. I usually start at 7 a.m.

I hope this is not an omen of things to come.

UPDATE: I took Jim’s advice from the comments and checked the muffler bearings and headlight fluid and they were OK. I also checked the warp drives and flux capacitors and they seemed to be working properly. After further troubleshooting and thorough systems analyses, I realized that that liquid stuff I have to put in the tank every week or so was not reaching a part called a “carburetor” and thus the “engine” was not able to generate enough energy to power the vehicle. I believe the problem is a part called the “fuel pump” so I will be on my way to Payless for a new pair.

  1. Sounds like a bad muffler bearing to me. I’d check the headlight fluid while you’re at it.

    Just a thought.

  2. Hey, look at the bright side though. Last time I took my car in for problems, they said it was the loose nut behind the steering wheel.

  3. I blew a tire and had food poisoning to start the new year. I’m right there wit’ you…

Glad to hear you’re back on the road. Or will be, ones you get your payless pumps installed.

  4. Florida State lost to Miami. That’s how my New Year started and I hope it’s not an omen of things to come. 🙂
