“Michael Moore and Fidel Castro see the world eye-to-eye.”

American college student Abigail Nelson, learning Spanish this summer in Havana, after seeing Moore’s Film in a Cuban theater.

There was speculation that Moore’s film would be disqualified from an Oscar nomination for best documentary because it was shown on statewaide Cuban TV within 9 months of it’s debut, but apparently that is not the case.

It seems the Castro regime ran a bootleg copy of the film, thus allowing the film to be considered for an Oscar.

  1. Well, it’s ineligible for an Oscar for the same reason “Bowling for Columbine” was, only more so: it’s fiction, i.e., not a documentary.
