Banned Books, the ALA and fidel with a box of matches

“Sometimes certain books have been published, the number does not matter. But as a matter of principle not a single book of such kind should be printed, not a single chapter, not a single page, not a single letter!”

fidel castro

The official line of the castro regime, and by extension, groups and organizations such as the ALA that support it – through their parroting of said official line – is that all books and informational material that goes contrary to the revolution and its Marxist/Leninist ideals are products of foreign intervention meant to de-stabilize the revolutionary government. At the same time, castro and his cultists pride themselves as noble warriors and victors in the “Battle of Ideas.”

However, the Battle of Ideas warriors fight not the ideas, as all actual dissenting ideas are suppressed and ignored. Thus these noble warriors are victors of their own imaginary battles, for they dont allow themselves to face any foes. A true Battle of Ideas is letting the opposing notions be heard and then proving them wrong. But, if an idea hasnt been proposed and exposed, then how can any reasonable person judge whether it is righteous or not?

Anyone with even a remote semblance of intelligence must realize how fidel castro manages to stay in power: the intellectual oppression of the Cuban people. Keep the people dumb and deaf. No books not in keeping with socialist ideals, no foreign press, no uncontrolled domestic press, no satelite dishes, no internet, no contact whatsoever with the outside world. This is classic case of the windmill battling itself, with Don Quijote nowhere in sight.

Part 3 of Walter Skold’s “(c)astro’s Library Pass” is up at Front page Mag. It is, once again, required reading. Part one can be found here and part two can be found here.

Hat tip once again to Scott G.

  1. Val:

With apologies again – I post the names of Castro’s ALA supporters so that all that are new to this blog know the names of the ALA council members who go to Cuba and help Castro’s library machine. Ann Sparanese is a librarian in NJ who is a Venceremos Brigade Member. Mark Rosensweig is the head librarian at the Communist Party USA Center for marxist studies!

    Expose them!

    They are ALA council members.
