Yahoo News reports that the postponed birthday party for fidel is on again. As Stefania reports, Dr. Darsy Ferrer is calling for peaceful resistance beginning on the 13TH. What do you think, is fidel’s birthday going to be the day the wall of silence cracks?

Also, chavez says he’s exchanged letters with fidel. So where’s the note to “the people”? And, it looks like the US is squeezing chavez a little. El univeral reports that the US wants Chavez to join calls for democracy in Cuba.

Thomas Shannon, US Assistant Secretary of State for Western Hemisphere Affairs, would like Venezuelan President Hugo Chávez to advocate also democratic transition in Cuba and doubted that he can keep similar relations with Fidel Castro out of power.

“Our hope is that Venezuela, as a country signatory of the Americas Democratic Charter, joins the rest of the hemisphere to express its desire for a successful democratic transition” in Cuba, Shannon told reporters in the State Department.

The diplomat wondered about future relations between President Chávez and Cuba after Fidel Castro’s office.

We’re all wondering about that.

  1. So chavez got a NOTE from Fidel..?
    – Didn;t they used to talk every hour on the phone..?
    – Didn’t castro was able to talk and Joke arround as per Alarcon.?
    – Didn’t castro was able to already start talking about Middle east on the cell phone.?
    – If i’m not mistaking I read a news wire from MSM that castro was already operative with a Cell phone in hand, holding the Revolution
    – Can he write a note to Mesa redonda then..? if he wrote to Chavez?

  2. “Meanwhile, a high-level Communist Party official stressed that Castro was “successfully” recuperating from surgery and that life on the Americas’ only communist island was “completely normal.”

Thats about as credible as I have a cousin who knows someone who is related to someone who…
Does this high-level official have a name?
Of course the normal comment won’t be questioned.

  3. The more time that passes, the more likely a coverup is going on. Dead or Alive…it really doesnt matter as he is no longer in control and the 20 million dollar question is who is in control…

  4. Amazing how he could write a note but not talk on the phone?
I mean, he wasn’t operated at his throat?
Or does he have his throat up his ass?

  5. One thing is really bugging me as of late. I thought fidel was an Atheist.. So, why in his supposed letter to chavez does he state “God protect you, and company..” something like that. I don’t know it just may be like another stall tactic.

  6. Felix, if you ask me this is just more proof that fidel isn’t doing the writing, and isn’t doing the talking. I can’t believe that if could communicate it wouldn’t be a speech to his people to make sure they know he’s still in charge. I think he’s dead or to borrow from an old movie, mostly dead.

  7. I have heard that Mirta Díaz-Balart has flown to Cuba to be by her sons side because Castro is dying. Has anyone else heard anything about this?

  8. Pototo, this is the article I was commenting on, perhaps I mistranslated.

  9. Ziva its not that you misread it, its just that there is no way you can have peaceful resistance here, and Darsi is clearly calling on everyone to wake up out of their submissive stupor and take action and responsibility for the future of Cuba.
