It’s that time again…

The 2006 Weblog Awards

Show your support for alternative media! This is an opportunity to give bloggers a pat-on-the-back. At their best, blogs inspire us, make us laugh, give us hope, and provide unbiased honest reporting about important events. Blogs also act as watch-dogs to the MSM. Two sensational stories come to mind; Adnan Hajj caught doctoring war photos from Lebanon, and Dan Rather caught spinning with forged documents.

The Cuban corner of the blogosphere is an ever expanding voice for truth and freedom in opposition to Cuba’s state controlled propaganda machine. I am very proud to be a part of Babalu, who is once again a finalist for the Best Latino, Caribbean, or South American Blog. We are in very good company.

Vote for your favorite blogs here.

  1. I just voted for Babalu. Although it’s in good company, Babalu blog is my go-to website for the latest news on Cuba, especially news that the mainstream media doesn’t report.

And a hat tip to Val, who has created a great forum for discussion, where the world can express opinions freely and engage in political debate…

…because free debate is the cornerstone of an effective democracy, and our best defense against the forces of tyranny. And that’s something Cuba badly needs.

  2. My vote is in. Keep up the good work.

BTW, it limits voters to one vote every twenty-four hours. They ought to come up with a way to enforce that in City of Hialeah elections too! 🙂

  3. VERY happy to give you my vote.

No lines, no touch-screens, no crazy liberals with signs blocking the entrance …. great.
