  1. Wearily I arise from bed, not much less wearily than I laid me down. After the morning ablutions, a cup of hot chocolate and an orange, I sit me at the computer and visit the usual sites. Perhaps some early riser or late sleeper has posted something interesting this morning.

    Whoa! What is this? 1067 comments in Babalú’s last thread! Why, there were only 9 comments when I retired. This can mean only one thing — the bastard is dead. An inward prayer thanking God that I have lived to see this day, and the painful reflection that millions of lives have been consumed in 48 years waiting for it, some of those lives intimately connected to my own. The past cannot be recovered, but the future is now unobstructed by his presence.

    Now begins the second phase of our national vigil, as we wait for the system which he created, the repository of his fetid legacy, to expire also.

    Then I really awoke.
