U.S. Congressmen Shilling for Dictators

What is it with politicos writing editorials? Following the ghost of fidel’s path, Reps. Rangel & Flake, both longtime castro apologists and enablers picked up their pens and wrote this disingenous piece of propaganda promoting little brother raul as a “reformer.”

Excerpt:

He acknowledges that his role is transitional, a bridge to Cuba’s next generation, and his greatest interest is to set the stage for socialism’s long-term survival.

It is a safe bet that he will seek to accomplish that goal through economic reform. His reformist record dates to the 1980s, and he has Cuban economists busy developing policy options. Dissident Vladimiro Roca calls him Cuba’s “number one reformer.”

An economic opening would deliver political support for Cuba’s successor government. And it is the only means to deliver the growth, jobs and higher incomes that can give hope to young Cubans and fair wages to teachers, doctors and others left behind in Cuba’s post-Soviet economy

The only means? I find it frightening that members of the U.S. Congress are openly shilling for a murderous dictator and a leading U.S. Newspaper publishes their propaganda.

This is what raul castro himself has said about economic reform, “It is preferable that Cuba sink into the ocean, like Atlantis, before the corrupting forces of capitalism prevail.”

If there is any reform going on in Cuba its real goal is to consolidate the party’s power, not to benefit the people. American congressmen have no business helping them.

  1. Rangel and Flake said: “It is a safe bet that he will seek to accomplish that goal through economic reform. His reformist record dates to the 1980s, and he has Cuban economists busy developing policy options. Dissident Vladimiro Roca calls him Cuba’s “number one reformer.”

“He has raised expectations that he will tackle chronic problems: excessive centralization; broken-down state enterprises that cheat consumers and breed corruption; low farm output; severe income inequality; and a generation of young people that has known nothing but shortage and sacrifice”.

And I supposed that safe bet is because Castro # 2 told them that personally!
And he will tackle chronic problems? Which where created by him and his near defunct brother with their stupid economic policies to begin with!!
This is such a joke. Where does Mr. Rangel (who every chance he gets welcomes Castro #1 his own district in N.Y.) gets his information? Raul Castro will never change anything because he is committed to the same evil policies his brother was throughout the last 48 years.
So the Cuban people are supposed to abandon all hope for a free society and democracy just because these two jerks say so. We do not need anyone in the Beltway and far removed from the realities of daily life in Cuba to tell us to simply accept and “improved” version of Communism. What we need is democracy, full implementation of human rights and free elections to let the people of Cuba choose the kind of Government they want. And that is not in Raul Castro’s agenda. So Charlie and Jeff, we do not need your advice on what is good for Cuba. And is not Socialism ver. 2.0
