While the U.S. media is busy celebrating a dictatorship, peaceful dissident, Darsi Ferrer has been arrested again.
Dr. Darsi Ferrer’s wife reports that he left their home for a 9 a.m. appointment at the US Interests section in Havana. At ten she received a phone call that Darsi had been arrested. He and their family, including their 5-year old son, have been subjected to eleven actos de repudios, been beaten, and now this: Apologies to our English only readers, it’s in Spanish.

“Arrest of Dr. Darsi Ferrer.”
My husband, Dr. Darsi Ferrer, left our home this morning for a 9:00 A.M. appointment at the internet salon in the offices of the US Interests Section. Around 10:00 A.M. someone called the phone at, independent journalist, Jaime Leygonier’s house and informed him that Darsi was being held at the police station at Zapata and C. He is frequently the target of repressive actions at the hands of the State Security. He has been detained on various occasions without having committed the slightest infraction. Our family — which includes our 5 year old son, Dariel — has suffered through 11 acts of repudiation while Darsi and I have even been beaten. I don’t know what the intentions of the Political Police are this time. Right now the issue at hand is that he’s disappeared since he would have been back by now. I hold the State Police responsible for whatever they have done or what might come of Darsi.
