Cubans Sequestered in Venezuela

According to the publication “Cuba News,” Cuban nationals working as doctors in Caracas have been sequestered until further notice. The order apparently came from Havana on the evening of June 7th, stating the streets of the Venezuelan capitol were not safe given the current political crisis. The statement went on to express fears of possible violence against Cubans working in Venezuela and ordered Cuban citizens to turn in cell phones.
I can’t corroborate this report but am working on it.
UPDATE – 1:11 p.m. (EST) – June 12th
I have just received this response from an anonymous source to a query regarding reports of the sequestering of Cuban doctors in Caracas:
I cannot reveal the source inside Cuba’s government, but I verified it
personally in Venezuela, with doctors , one is related to my wife and one to
me, they are now in Mexico trying to come over the US.The sequestering was
done in Caracas and not the smaller towns in the country side.
I keep informed from within the government or should I say misgovernment.
