Nicaragua’s voters, who elected castro minime Daniel Ortega president last year, are starting to have some buyer’s remorse.
Ortega, whose voters were mostly young people with no memory of the brutal castroite regime Ortega installed in Nicaragua during the time of Ronald Reagan, is carrying on most of the same stunts he did when Nicaraguans took up arms against him in the 1980s. Back then, he let castro’s men run the country, and right now, he’s doing the same. He’s also throwing in Chavez’s men, who are known for their rude patronizing attitude toward Nicaraguans, as all tyrant henchmen show. He installed indoctrinators from the Original Sandalistas to teach ‘literacy’ and now he’s invited castroite doctors to bring ‘free health care,’ none of which is really free. Nicaraguans, with a bellyful of just six months of this, have already decided they don’t like it.
They should have known better, but they didn’t. Everything castro touches turns to garbage. Now they will have to take matters into their own hands.
See Daniel Ortega’s plummeting approval ratings here.

I was just in Managua recently and let me tell you how viscerally disturbing it is to see the streets of that city lined with 30 ft. tall placards of ortega with a shit-eating grin on his face. On the bright side, as I snapped a pic of one of these propaganda billboards, a young Nica boy ran up to the window of my suv and gave me a very animated thumbs-down gesture with the sourest look on his face you could ever imagine.
Wait until all the people who believed the 2006 version of Ortega to be a kindler, gentler, Catholic model starts confiscating property like he did in the 80’s and see how those numbers drop. He’as not going to change his spots, I don’t care how much religion he has found. As long as he associates with Ghadafi, Chavez and castro, he’s the same piece of commie caca he always was.
Where’s Ronnie when you need him???

“Those who do not learn from the past are condemned to repeat it.”
Just wait for the next presidential election… ortega is going to pull a chavez! Nicaraguans will have Ortega as their President for a long, long, long, long, long…..time.
The Contras better start hording up weapons now before ortega does the same as el coma andante.
“el coma andante”?!?! LOL!!!!!
Firefly, thank you for a most indulgent belly laugh. I needed that! And, I’ll put that one under my hat for later use.
Ortega won with only 38% of the vote. The opposition, divided, received a combined 55%. So a few who voted for Ortega now feel differently. Big deal. The fault of his return lies squarely with the opposition parties and the egos of their leaders. The most that can be hoped for is that Ortega does enough damage to shock the opposition into uniting against the Sandinistas in the future.
It’s just business as usual in Letrine America. They haven’t learned a damn thing from their innumerable mistakes, and they seem bound and determined never to do so.
