Let’s see…
What does the Cuban government do in order to assuage the Cuban people’s discontent with their lives?
Does it give them more food? No.
Does it allow them to travel? No.
Does it help them economically? No.
The Cuban government, in order to make the Cuban people forget about the absolute misery they live in, gives them one ridiculous project after another. This one is a doozy.
Are you hungry and tired and oppressed? Then here, build your oppressor a monument. Bring your own materials and use your own tools.
Le ronca los cojones.

This is sort of like Nero fiddling while Rome burned. Either these idiots have no clue or they have a really twisted sense of humor. But then again, maybe they’re just being good little “New Men.”
They are going to erect monuments in Cuba for future generations? Once castro and his Inc. are ousted or overthrown, whatever happens will happen, the imperialist Cuban Mafia will rope and pull down those commie monuments.

I’ll bet my life this is not voluntary. Chances are the CDR in each street will walk into the homes and take whatever they need. After all, everything belongs to the revolution.
I remember one time back in the early 70’s they had this big campaign to collect glass bottles – I don’t recall why, but I remember my Grandmother hiding some of the bottles she used to use in the kitchen. The local CDR lady came to our house and literally looked “around” to insure we were cooperating. It was ridiculous – they had this little cart filled with glass bottles being pulled by a goat.
Oh, come on. Don’t you want the Nomenklatura to get their hands on as much precious metal as they can before they have to give up their positions of power and flee the country? Don’t be so cruel.
